LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - War was hell on the Oscars ratings.
With the conflict in Iraq weighing heavily on the minds of Americans, the subdued 75th anniversary edition of the Academy Awards entered the record books on Monday as the least watched Oscar telecast ever.

I think that title should read, "Academy Awards is the least watched ceremony in history because of the anti-American bias of many stars."

I'm for a pre-emptive MOAB strike on Hollywood.

They are trying to spin it that it was becuase everyone was watching war coverage. I think most people did not want to watch well.....because most have proven themselves to be uneducated, selfish prigs spouting peace rheotoric from ivory towers! Most of us regular folks did not take to kindly to it....:o
Maybe they will 'get the picture' when none of us go to see their movies.

"With the conflict in Iraq weighing heavily on the minds of Americans,"..."The Oscar telecast was also hurt by the curtailment of pre-show festivities"SO this is why they think the Oscars weren't being watched by Americans?? UH.. stupid is as stupid does.. DUH.. it wasn't being watched because Americans didn't want to see America put up to ridicule by a bunch of idiotic actors.

If America was less interested in self absorbed celebrities celebrating themselves than world events, there may be hope for us yet.

Yup, I have a very short list of "Must See" movies... and it keeps getting shorter every time a new one mouths off.

I see they blamed everything but the real reason, idiot liberal "stars" that can't seem to do anything but run their cookie crushers about our president. Serves them right.

I don't go to movies. They are a waste of time and usually full of filth and nudity. Besides is was too busy watching the NCAA tournment. Much better entertainment than watching some high school grads grandeur themselves.

Times have changed. The Best Motion Picture Award 33 years ago went to "Patton."

I watched the beginning of the Oscars, hoping to see the National Guard protecting their elitist butts. But, the cameras did not focus on the men that Gov Davis called out for their protection. LOL

"Academy Awards is the least watched ceremony in history because of the anti-American bias of many stars." I agree.

I am hoping this message from us "little warmongers" that don't have the compassion and intellect of the great "movie stars" carries far beyond their self absorbed party of self congratulations. Hooray for patriotic Americans that love our soldiers! And great job by the CA freepers that took the time to let Hollywood know where the majority of us stand.

I have a few friends who are writers in the 'Biz' ...
But for the most part I hate everything Hollywood stands for: out-of control greed, corruption, back stabbing, disloyalty, commy values, conspicuous spending, fashions, libertine lifestyles, over-use of drugs and alcohol, thefts of scripts, theft of profits, bilking the public, massive tax fraud, political fraud, PC everything, lack of genuine values, corruption of everything, casting couch auditions (boys and girls), lack of patriotism, phony superiority, and secret Satanic group cults.
F'em all ...

I'm sorry to see that so many Americans thought this rubbish worth watching. But the fake glitter and sham glamour of two-dimensional preeners numbs the pain of oblivion for the trailer park set. And it' such a shame, with so many REAL heros and heroines just down the block, or crawling through sand halfway around the world.
Oh, well. One thing Hollow-wood has always done well is the wholesale marketing of illusions. Too bad there's still a market for such ephemeral stuff.
