This is beginning to get uncomfortable. I think even Hollywood is beginning to sense the seriousness

Uncomfortable? No one expected a "comfortable" victory with no casualties. The Iraqis had months if not years to prepare for this. We are going to take losses--it's a war and our soldiers, valiant heros though they be, are still human.

Relax. The final outcome is not in doubt. In football terms, we're ahead 28-2 in the first quarter. Don't let that safety get you down.

"We're ahead 28-2 in the first quarter."

That might be a good lead in the NFL, but it wouldn't be safe in the NBA, and I think this war is more like the NBA - the fourth quarter, when we get to Baghdad, will be rough, no lead will be safe. Saddam Hussein will try to force us to kill as many civilians as possible, or suffer heavy casualties ourselves, in the batttle of Baghdad. It is not going to be easy, or pretty.

i did not ever think we would win without casualties.

I even heard Bill Gertz suggest today on the Drudge show
that perhaps we had not allocated enough troops to this war. Those kinds of comments make me uncomfortable.

For those of you who do not know about Bill Gertz,
he is a very good reporter from the Washington Times

Well said....my daughter and I bawled in the car on the way to her school this morning....I would not allow her to see the pictures of our dead, but just hearing about them made her cry. War is never easy, we cry for our dead and their families as if they were our own family for they gave their lives for our freedom and yet they did not know me and my daughters. My thoughts and prayers as well as the thoughts & prayers of my daughters go out to those families. They understand more than anyone as their dad (my ex husband) is in the military...he's not their yet, just got back from their last year, but all things are subject to change. WE WILL PREVAIL...turn your "unease" into anger & resolve towards the regime of Iraq.
