Are the Scots DG the front line troops - the ones who traditionally marched resolutely in front, drawing enemy fire?

Are the Scots DG the front line troops - the ones who traditionally marched resolutely in front, drawing enemy fire?The Royal Scots Dragoon Guards are cavalry forces; they are equipped with the Challger 2 MBT, equivalent to the US' Abrams MBT. Dragoons traditionally were light infantry forces mounted on horse; they would traverse rapidly on horse, then dismount to fight.
