Good Morning.

This is the Daily Thread of Operation Iraqi Freedom - LIVE THREAD.

It is designed for general conversation about the events of the day. In depth discussion of events should be left to individual threads - but links to the threads or other articles is highly encouraged. This allows us to stay abreast of the situation in general, while also providing a means of obtaining specific information.

Please have mercy on us dial up limited FReepers! Limit the big graphics, post links instead. A breif description of what the graphic is would help:

To all who helped this get started, thank you!

Special thanks to An.American.Expatriate for staring the daily threads, Mo1 for the screamer, the AdminMods for their tolerance, mhking for the video links, and, of course, Belly Girl...

I listened to Rush for about 10 minutes, in some ways he was indeed complaining. I really don't think Rush is considering the war in the context of history. Yes, we could be more ruthless, but the price of that victory would come in the lack of support we would have during reconstruction and installation of a new government. This is an incredibly tricky operation.

***Per him, our whole strategy hinged on taking out Saddamn the first night and mass surrender the moment our boots were in Iraq.***

If that is true .. then why was the war ORGINALLY planned to start two days after we hit that bunker

These people are idiots and this sinus headache I have is NOT helping me have ANY patience with them

Have they not read any history books about pass wars, how they are planned and how the they are put into action and how there IS an objective at the end .. and that would be to take out Saddam out .. one way or another ..

Hey media guys .. here is a short story for you to read

If you aren't listening, please shaddap.

You're a prime example of why a LOT of people don't listen to Rush.

Rush is just GUESSING just like the rest of us. One of the reason Rush dumps regularly on Bush is that he thought he'd have some access to this White House and he doesn't.

Rush must have been out on the golf links while we here at FR were keeping up with the war and General Franks' explanations of the statergery.

We had a very moving local welcome home in 1991;including the sitting Vice Presdent,a local boy; for those from the Gulf War which included my stepson and brother. We are leaving tonight for my brothers retirement from the Marines at the Marine Corps Memorial. There was some discussion of why take the family to that area during whatever alert we're at now,I look upon it as spitting in the faces of Saddam and bin Laden. We'll be staying right near the Memorial and relatively close to the Pentagon.Hopefully,we take Baghdad while we're there.

"I stopped listening to Rush MONTHS ago. I got tired of waiting for news while having to listen to him give his opinions."

I'm fast losing interest in Rush as my interest in Freeping grows. You guys are posting too fast, though, I can't keep up! Is there a Freeper Gym I can go to?

Putin warning us about humanitarian catastrophe. As if he cares, as if he wasn't complicit in the misuse of the oil for food program and arming Iraq to defend the terror of the sadistic tyrant.

Rush has some good points most of the time. I picked him up on the radio while driving and find I agree with him in the VAST MAJORITY of cases.

Talk radio isn't the sort of forum that lets a person probe an issue in any depth. It's more of a gut-feel, sound-bite/slogan sort of forum, and Rush is very good at it.

Sometimes Rush does try to do analysis -- and when he does, his reasoning is often less than impressive. On subjects I know something about, I find that he works way too hard making logical pretzels to reach his predetermined conclusions. Sometimes he's wrong, and many times he fails in his attempts to paint things as black and white.

On balance I like Rush. But I stopped relying on him for alternative information when I discovered FR.

I wish. A lot of us are "veterans" of the 2000 Election though.......we went to the mattresses then and earned our stripes. (A lot of our friends and family didn't get any Christmas presents that year!)

The Royal Scots Dragoon Guards (Carabiniers and Greys) Yorkshire Post, 3/24/2003 12:15:13 PM

Tanks from the Royal Scots Dragoon Guards saw their first action last night in a series of battles with Iraqi resistance on the outskirts of Basra. Their Challenger 2 tanks took out 5 Russian built T55 tanks close to Basra International Airport. In a fierce battle lasting four hours the Scots DG encountered numerous enemy units less than a mile from their position.
