****It would be nice to live in a world where our media was not so unpatriotic!****
Countries that have state controlled media probably consider THEIR media quite patriotic.
Just a thought to ponder.

Some of these reporters that are embedded are going to be able to retire on a book deal if they so choose after coming back. Many of them have done a great job!

I cannot believe that somebody pays these "reporters" salaries. They really don't report the news; they try to make the news. I thoroughly enjoy the smackdowns this administration has been handing out.

My phone rang right after the question re: the apaches being sent in precipitously rather than sending in other types of aircraft. What was the answer?

I know that. But, you didn't post the second part of my post. I included that caveat. We could do with a little less constant criticism. It is getting ridiculous.

She was obviously disturbed by the meat head reporter that said the Iraqi leadership appears to be in control of things by what he saw on t.v.
She basically said they are liars and you're an idiot.
To: Carolinamom
The last question of the press briefing was:
"You said some of the enemy commanders said they had refused to follow some orders from HQ. Do you know if any of those involved WMD?"
Answer: "No"
Sheesh, isn't it Journalism 101 NOT to ask a questions which can be answered like that. We don't know if he said he didn't know or whether he was saying there were no such orders.

I want to know myself why we have allowed Irai TV to stay on the air... Maybe they want to use it to broadcast to the Iraqi people after they control Baghdad?

Some of these reporters that are embedded are going to be able to retire on a book deal Along this same line, it seems likely to me that the embedded reporters will be more likely to win the journalism prizes associated with this event than their stateside buddies.
