Good Morning.
This is the Daily Thread of Operation Iraqi Freedom - LIVE THREAD.
It is designed for general conversation about the events of the day. In depth discussion of events should be left to individual threads - but links to the threads or other articles is highly encouraged. This allows us to stay abreast of the situation in general, while also providing a means of obtaining specific information.
Please have mercy on us dial up limited FReepers! Limit the big graphics, post links instead. A breif description of what the graphic is would help:
To all who helped this get started, thank you!
Special thanks to An.American.Expatriate for staring the daily threads, Mo1 for the screamer, the AdminMods for their tolerance, mhking for the video links, and, of course, Belly Girl...

That sign, I'd like to see them keep carrying that sign, after what happened in Kuwait. Also, the guy on the left didn't use his head and cover his face. San Francisco is only so big...

Caroline sounds very articulate for a reporter

Caroline Glick from Jerusalem Post on FNC. She is the journalist with the unit that discovered the chemical facility. She said that it looked recently abandoned, sand bunkers to disguise it from view, they siezed documents and arms, 60 Iraqi prisoners taken, guard dogs were there. They prisoners didn't resist. She said the site was known, they looked for it.
She is cool, very sarcastic. Asked what she found interesting though, she said the American soldiers are spectacular, high spirits, and very brave.

one buff loaded with 500 lb gravity bombs can take out an area 1/2 mile wide and two miles long. Lots of new swimming holes should it rain.

She described our Army as brave and having high morale and knowing what they are fighting for it was a great complement...!!!!

Taking this facility was pretargeted.
Interesting so many Iraqi officers were still hanging around to surrender.

No bet. My hackles have been up since Rick Levanthal's last report. It wasn't anything he said, just the fact that he'd been stationary for about an hour, plus the fact that David Bloom on MSNBC had seemed to have been stopped for about the same amount of time, and they're attached to different units.

An old gentleman that I know, a retired attorney and AF pilot, likes to wink at me and say, "Don't you worry about it. You will never see another Democrat President in your lifetime. America is waking up."
I pray that he is correct.

To put it in perspective, when Germany invaded Poland in 1939, it was considered a rout, yet the German casualty numbers were 8082 to 10572 killed, 27,278 to 30322 wounded and 3404 to 5029 missing. So even that "easy" victory came at a cost.

Yes she sounded like an American. I don't feel like registering. What are the highlights, if you could, on how she was embedded. She is the first female I have heard on the ground.
