I just posted my reply to you because it was handy so I wasn't inferring that you had said anything negative about Rush's commentary today.

All and all, he seems very positive to me. The battle will be won. It may take longer doing it this way, but it will be won.

I don't know about that either. It seems to me it appeared that he wasn't aware that the troops had been executed. James Rosen said last night that having watched W for two years he thinks had Bush known about it he wouldn't have been nearly as composed or nice. Rosen believed he would have been furious and much more damning in his remarks.

Why he wasn't informed about it is beyond me too. My only guess is that the news broke while he was enroute from Camp David to the WH but I would think communication would be constant with him. It's a wonder.

Last I read about the tax cuts was that the Senate agreed to trim $100 billion from the tax cuts to pay for the war. I can certainly live with that. Still gets 87% of his tax cut plus gets to fund the military. Works for me.
