Good Morning.
This is the Daily Thread of Operation Iraqi Freedom - LIVE THREAD.
It is designed for general conversation about the events of the day. In depth discussion of events should be left to individual threads - but links to the threads or other articles is highly encouraged. This allows us to stay abreast of the situation in general, while also providing a means of obtaining specific information.
Please have mercy on us dial up limited FReepers! Limit the big graphics, post links instead. A breif description of what the graphic is would help:
To all who helped this get started, thank you!
Special thanks to An.American.Expatriate for staring the daily threads, Mo1 for the screamer, the AdminMods for their tolerance, mhking for the video links, and, of course, Belly Girl...

Franks says of resistance: Forget they're there. We'll deal with them later. We're on the move.
Take that!

North operation is more like Afghanistan, per Major Garrett. Special Forces partnered with Kurds.

So am I. But I'll bet that right now there are a few embedded journalists who wish they had stayed in Kuwait City.

MSNBC was just showing that live cam shot. You were right. It's Kerry Sanders' cam, not bloom's. Mine's gone black...do you still have it?

The outskirts of BAG are going to get a pounding today. I have seen waves of B-52's leaving England. Look for them to hit the RG hard....we won't allow AAA to bring down the Apaches again..
I was watching the MSNBC webcam of the 3rd ID until it went black. Showed a lot of movement, tanks (long convoy) started to move, etc. Alot of milling around, activity.
I got a similar impression--that they were getting ready to head out. So it could be a hard nite for the Republican Guard.

Good! My husband who is active duty got a phone call from a friend last night who got out of the army as a captain. He was depressed and discouraged at the developments of the weekend. It was cool listening to my husband explain to him that for God's sake, the war hasn't even been on for a week and to expect instant results in a ground war is crazy.

I think once word gets around about prisoner abuse (torture) and desecration on tv - well, I know they were already motivated but I would not want to have 30,000 UMC as mad as hell after ME.

I move we send a copy of the belly girl picture to every male soldier and marine currently in the area. Could be the next Betty Grable

The main MSNBC feed page said that that particular camera will go black from time to time.

Your husband's friend has no doubt been listening to CNN, the Tokyo Rose Network. He should be given the link to this thread, Ralph Peters article, and get a dish so he can watch Fox News.
