No wonder I didn't recognize him...I haven't seen the second movie yet. (yep, I'm the one...LOL) Hope to see it this week if it's still in some theater in Northern California (vacation).

From the 'Calendar' section of today's LA Times:
Later in the broadcast, documentary feature winner Michael Moore began an attack on President Bush after winning the trophy for "Bowling for Columbine." He was promptly greeted by boos not only from the audience but also from many of the stagehands. As Moore's speech reached its crescendo, Cates and Horvitz decided in the production truck to cut him off.
"Music! Music!" Horvitz yelled. The orchestra quickly drowned out the rest of Moore's speech. As he walked backstage with his trophy in his hands, Moore heard even more criticism from the stagehands, one of whom came up to the filmmaker and told him in colorful language that he had a different opinion of the president.
The guys who do the real work tend to be pretty conservative.

Thanks for the great picture of a grand lady! A sample of DeHavilland's body of work: "Gone With The Wind", "To Each His Own", (first Best Actress Oscar), "The Heiress" (second Oscar), "Strawberry Blonde", "The Snake Pit", "The Aventures of Robin Hood", "Captain Blood"-one of my all-time favorites, and "The Charge of the Light Brigade".
...As you can probably guess, I spend more time watching TCM than attending current films.

Yes, Adrien Brody, the winner of the Best Actor in "The Piano" did mention he had a very good friend from Brooklyn stationed over in Kuwait. His acceptance speech was touching.

Could any one tell if she did? That's what I meant....they appear bigger than the mosquito bites she had on Ally McBeal.

I didn't want to be shallow and say that.. but I think you are correct.
I was thinking maybe Tim looked so PO'ed cause his beloved wife has 'filled out' a little, ok, a lot.
why would a woman with droopy breasts wear a dress that magnified the effect?
To: socal_parrot
Yeah, and we got there early and tried to catch a movie at the Capitan and the theatre was closed for the day. Rented out for a 'private party'.

All the documentary directors agreed to all go on stage together, no matter who won.
Moore securing his 15 min.

I don't think they had seat fillers this year.
If they support Hussein so strongly, I wonder why they are so afraid of terrorists?
It made me sick though, to see the hundreds of police basically killing time, when there are real terrorists and criminals on our streets. Why do these trumped up nobodies get all the security?

It seems like President Bush is following this in his war plans. God Bless him!Absolutely! The President is a devout Christian and in his heart wants to do this by the book- The Bible, that is.

Possibly. One of the (many) stories I read about Moores humiliation (left me wishing I had a TV) quoted him as saying that before the Oscars started, all the documentary directors agreed that whoever won, everyone would go onstage to 'support'.
Of course, Moore is the one who supposedly said that, but they all went quickly enough to imply that it had been planned. I'm sure they knew he would win... Hollywood wouldn't pass an op to bash guns.
