HERO Op-Ed - Todays Academy Awards 03-23-03
To borrow the motto from the Post Office, "Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night" and now we add our ender: "Nor our American soldiers fighting in Operation Iraqi Freedom will stay rabid anti-war Hollywood actors from the swift destruction of their careers".
Having learned nothing from what the Dixie Chicks have experienced over the last two weeks when lead singer, Natalie Maines stated in Europe that she was "ashamed that President Bush is from Texas", and watched their radio air time plummet, protests with people crushing their cds, and being forced to apologize, Hollywood is brazenly soldiering on in their quest to further alienate the American public.
I awoke this morning to news from the Drudge Report, that at the Independent Spirit Awards went on as scheduled yesterday, complete with the red carpet and interviews with reporters. Cited as a precursor for tonights Academy Awards, anti-war activists let loose with some of these beauties:

That's a good suggestion. I'd add Mel Gibson's The Patriot to the list.
