Rumsfeld Iraqi footage violates Geneva Convention
WASHINGTON, March 23 (Reuters) - U.S. Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld said on Sunday Iraqi television footage apparently showing American prisoners of war was a violation of the Geneva Convention.
On CBS's "Face the Nation," Rumsfeld was shown footage relayed by the Arabic satellite station al-Jazeera that Iraq television claimed were captive U.S. soldiers.
"That's a violation of the Geneva Convention, those pictures you showed," Rumsfeld said of the international law on treatment of prisoners of war. He said the convention prohibits the photographing or interrogation by media of those captured in battle.

Methinks the POW executions reported
here are an even more egregious violation.
Seems like they want to play the game of... "Geneva Convention? What Geneva Convention?"

I ended up slapping a peaceactivist who was a supposed friend on my Livejournal who said because we went in without the United Nations the Geneva convention is null and void.
I hope in the future ALL our soliders will have GPS devices implanted in their dog tag or attached to their uniform. I think we need a solution that would help us find POW's and prevent the incidence from this happening.

Yeah, that's a great idea, let's just throw out the Geneva convention. If you listen to your peacenik friend, we should just off the thousands of prisoners we have then. Does your friend support that? Idiots.
