We could see 10s of 1000s gassed civilians in the Baghdad siege. It's Saddam's only shred of a hope -- generate gruesome carnage among "his own people" (shields) and threaten to do more. It will not work even if it comes to that.

Red Cross: Showing American Prisoners on Television Violates International Law

GENEVA (AP) - Showing footage of captured U.S. troops on Iraqi television violated the Geneva Conventions, the International Committee of the Red Cross said Sunday. The Arab satellite station Al-Jazeera aired footage from Iraqi television Sunday of interviews with what the station identified as captured American prisoners. The footage also showed bodies in uniforms that the station said were U.S. soldiers in an Iraqi morgue.

Television networks around the world over the weekend showed images of Iraqi prisoners captured by coalition forces.

Lt. Gen. John Abizaird: "It's very important to understand that, as we've advanced (across Iraq), in the vast majority of places we have been welcomed."

Have you guys seen this from Drudge?

The DRUDGE REPORT has wrestled with providing the complete video feed to its readers. The families of the murdered U.S. troops have been notified. And if anchormen and others in the media have viewed it, why can't the average citizen?

With a banging conscience, faces of the dead and captured cannot be shown in this space.

But with that same conscience is the total anger, and the feeling many of us have become too desensitized to the atrocities.

Agree or disagree, you have to admit that Drudge seems to believe he's doing the right thing.

I think we knocked out their main Command and Control facilities - making it far more difficult to stage any massive WMD attack - and that Saddam, his two sons and Tariq were all killed in the first strike Wed. night.

Me too. He said something along the lines that civilian casualties would be a big asset in the PR war. And you know there are those back stabbing countries that will jump up and down over every so called "innocent civilians" that are killed in this war....not to mention the anti war leftist commie pigs in this country.

The DemonRats are hoping for this too. They believe it's their ticket to 2004.

This is a war of good vs evil and I pray to God that good triumphs

I agree. one, a thousand, or 50,000 Iraqi deaths -- those who demonize us will do so regardless. It is too late to convince those who blame the savior. So the fastest possible victory is the only answer to such atrocities, if they occur. Likely we will suffer additional casualties to rescue the remaining populace of Baghdad, not that any of the leftist idiots will be grateful.

Yes, Drudge seems angry and it's true that 9/11 was sanitized.
I think he is trying to do the right thing. I feel for the families..I'm torn on this issue.
