Drudge had a link over the weekend from a "peace shield" that was shocked back into reality.

This person was returning to safety now, but said when they were in Iraq they were shocked to hear citizens there say they were willing to have their houses bombed if it would get rid of Saddam. They said they were willing to slit their wrists to escape Saddam and his son's cruelty.

A big shock to this peacenik - I bet though none of his friends will be interested in his conversion when he gets back to the USA.

I did this for a person in this thread that was deaf, and hope it posts alright for anyone else that also can't hear the segment. I tried to transcribe it as close as I could..

Info-
The clip is of a U.S. residing Iraqi-born citizen calling into a KVI broadcast in Seattle. From the sound of it, a college student anti-war protester was being interviewed at the actual radio station where people were calling in and speaking with her.

The Iraqi caller's name is Muhammad (who has a really strong Arabic accent), the peace-protester at the station's name is Andrea, and the DJ's name is Brian.

=== TRANSCRIPTION ===

Muhammad (calling in): "How exactly will leaving Saddam in power promote peace and justice in Iraq?"

:hesitant pause:

Andrea (protester): "Umm, again.. what I need to say is that regime change.."

Muhammad: "No, you are now dancing around the question. HOW exactly will leaving Saddam..."

Andrea: "Listen, regime change.... regime change is the issue for the Iraqi people. How will, how will bombing Iraq help bring peace and justice and bombing thousands of people and killing thousands of innocent people.. and.."

Brian: "K, let him, let him explain. Let Muhammad explain how bombing will work."

Muhammad: "I will explain it to you if you would like me to answer your question, since you are choosing not to answer mine. And since you are choosing to play Ping Pong and not answer my question little girl, I will answer yours.

There will be civilian deaths in the war, Saddam has killed 2 million people. There are families here in this country who lost 20 or 30 people on one day in a gas attack by Saddam Hussein, little girl.

:Andrea cackles with nervous, yet arrogant laughter:

"And I will tell you this. Yes civilians will die. My cousins will die, maybe. Allah forbid. But here is a certainty that you do not understand in your simplistic Nickelodeon diplomacy is that you are guaranteed to have civilians die under Saddam. So now you try AGAIN to answer my question without playing de [the] Ping Pong. (says slowly each word at a time) HOW does leaving Saddam in power promote peace and justice in Iraq?

Andrea: "I mean I guess what folks who listen to this show are saying or who are calling into this show.."

Muhammad: "I AM NOT ASKING WHAT FOLKS LISTENING TO THIS SHOW SAY, can you answer the question Little Girl!!"

Andrea: (laughter)

Muhammad: "Oh now you laugh at people dying, you are unable to answer the question."

Andrea: You know, what I'm laughing at is that it seems that you need to, um... (Muhammad starts saying next line)personally attack me to make your point."

Muhammad: "I do not want advice from you I am not giving you advice. I am asking a question!"

Andrea: "So what I'm trying to say..."

Brian: "Well I, I have.. Muhammad (interrupts). Andrea, I have the feeling that if you just answer his question, he'll be happy."

Andrea: (more nervous laughter)

Brian: "And by the way, I'm not baited by your laughter."

Muhammad: "You know, that laughter in the background...(unappreciatively)"

Andrea: "What I believe is that bombing and killing people is not going to bring peace and justice...

Muhammad: "You cannot answer the question you are a JOKE. You are a joke you cannot answer the question.

Andrea: "What I also believe is that there, there are other alternatives...if we can pursue"

Muhammad: "You who cannot answer the question you are a JOKE. You are a JOKE. I will give you one more chance and then I never listen to a word you say again you chirping bird!"

Andrea: "Okay and I just want to say that although...you are um.."

Brian: "H.. h.. how can you promote peace and justice without removing Saddam. That's his question, it's REAL simple Andrea."

Andrea: "And what I'm...(more silly, stalling laughter)"

Brian: "You're not..." :mocking laughter: (obviously perturbed at Andrea's laughter)

Muhammad: "Listen to the laughter of this little bird, who justifies herself."

Andrea: I, I...."

Brian: "I don't see why it's so hard Andrea!"

Andrea: "You guys, well first, I don't think that calling someone a little bird is going to help address the serious questions that millions of people....

Muhammad: "YOU DO NOT ADDRESS THE SERIOUS QUESTIONS!!!"

Andrea: "...are worried about. Millions of people are worried about the consequences of a war, Okay? Millions of people are worried about...

Muhammad: "NO I am NOT okay with you not answering the question."

Andrea: ".... bombing, bombing and killing many people and millions of people are worried about increasing security threats to people in the United States if we go to war...

Brian: "Sure, sure, sure, we're retreading the same territory. The.. the, we're uh.. retreading..."

Andrea: "And additionally... I don't, uh...

Muhammad: "Stop blustering little girl."

Brian: "You're not answering the question, Andrea...

Andrea: (more laughter)

Brian: "Andrea, Andrea, you can continue to petulantly veil in laughter, but you have to admit, you're not answering his question, it's a simple question."

Andrea: "I'm laughing at him calling me a little girl and, but I think that you guys...

Brian: "Well you're coming off as my 9 year-old neice."

Andrea: "And, well it seems like the only focus we can have here is Saddam Hussein and the fact is that the Iraqi...

Muhammad: "That is the FOCUS of the war! Do you understand one thing about ANYTHING!? That is the focus of the war!"

Andrea: "...people who are going to be killed in this bombing campaign, and what I said of this war is, there are alternatives.. okay."

Brian: (sputtering to interrupt Andrea) Yeah... Andrea, curiously, you're talking to a guy from IRAQ, and you're telling him that peace and justice will somehow remove the guy that is the reason he had to emigrate here. Is that what you're saying??"

Andrea: "What I'm saying is that...

Muhammad: "Now she repeats herself again..."

Andrea: ".. you should pursue peace and justice for the Iraqi people through international law, through diplomacy,..

Muhammad: (with resentment) "International law has FAILED Andrea."

Andrea: "...through pressure, through various, ehm..different initiatives. If we can pursue them in North Korea, if we can pursue them in Israel and Palestine and all over the world, we can pursue them in Iraq."

Muhammad: "Can I say one more thing before I hang up on this chirping bird."

Andrea: "And, and I also.., no I (laughter)"

Brian: "N..n.. no no no no..(interrupts) Now Andrea, Muhammad has to go. He's a caller he has go to, you've been on for the.. for 45 minutes. Go ahead Muhammad."

Muhammad: "May I say one more thing please Brian...

Brian: "Y.. yeah, go ahead."

Muhammad: "If you personally end up going to the Gulf Allah will bless you. Because Saddam is a pretend Muslim, and everybody knows this..

Brian: "Yeah..."

Muhammad: "And for the listeners who hear this girl, and she thinks I insult her with the term - I do not insult her, being a little girl is natural. We all start out children and we learn and grow. But she has no point lecturing me on what will happen in Iraq, or lecturing you, this is why this so-called peace movement.. they cannot even justify their own name. And, I will remind you.. If they leave Saddam in power, they guarantee death. If he is removed, there will be some, but for a short time and the Iraqi people are ready and they will welcome the Americans including, if.. Allah forbid - Brian goes. So Andrea, do not take it as being an insult that you are a little girl, you are simply not ready for the adult world. Thank you Brian."

Brian: "Ah...Thank you Muhammad. (hangs up) What he's referring to Andrea...

Andrea: "I..."

Brian: "is that tomorrow night is my final night on KVI. My, uh.. I'm being called up by the Army National Guard. I was in the first Desert storm, I pray to God I'm not in a second one. I just wonder, as I say, in ten years - will people shake MY hand and say thanks for my freedom, or will they shake YOUR hand. Neither you nor I know..."

Wow... Pretty funny... but that's the worst fake Iraqi accent I've heard in a long time. I think it's pretty apparent that Mohammed is not from Iraq.

The question posed still remains though and it's pretty classic that the guest can't seem to sum up enough logic to answer it.

Speaking as a so-called "peacenik", I have to say that's the funniestthing I've heard since some guy on a radio program won 100 grand and went apesh!t when it was revealed that he won a candy bar and not money :o)

Seriously, who can argue with any Iraqee living in exile because of Saddam. But there should be no arguement of wether or not it's a good thing for him...he's an Iraqee who has had to flee for some reason or another, of course it's good for him. The question is "is it good for Americans?" My question to him is "does taking Saddam out make US a safer or more dangerous place? That my friends is a question that both sides can go on forever but I wanted to illustrate how the caller's reasoning for wanting Saddam out can be totally different from many AMERICANS who agree with him. Keep in mind that some Americans will believe anything thatis told to them just for the sake of staying within party lines.

On a secfond note. That announcer seemed really cool. I didn't feel like he was trying to beat down the young lady (he didn't need to either, Muhammed was doing a good job). Here's hoping that he stays safe.

I haven't read many posts on this site but do people feed into that myth that being against war means that one is against the soldiers? I hope not. I served in the army for 7 years (poor, little inner city puerto rican...just call me statistic) and I know that once in you are trained to do one thing. Yes, I've participated in peace marches but the marches are never about the soldiers. It's about the administration. If and when the administration sends them out. My prayers go to each and every one of them to do whatthey do at 100% efficiency, because if they do, they'll come back sooner. I would shake any of their hands upon their return, not for fighting for my freedom (this war is not about that) but for going out, doing their job, and coming back alive. Sometimes that's alot more important.

I'll shut-up now.

Peace

I thought that I had this saved somewhere, but couldn't find it again.

Thanks to you and FR I simply had to search for the keyword "chirping bird".

Thank you so much.

Just for a laugh search the term "socialist moron" on google images.
