Arclight, you are one of us! The disgrace is to him alone, and those who agree with him! At my work, there are several who are veterans, who are black, whom I would trust with my LIFE. Good conservatives who love this country more than they do themselves. This should NOT be a blight on Blacks, or anyone but himself and those who agree with him.

You have it right : the problem is not his race. The problem is that he's a Muslim terrorist who happens to be a member of our military.
Our problem is that we look at all Muslims with Western eyes. They are not on any way shape OR form 'Western.' They're EASTERN.
Speaking as a Jew, I can tell you that we are taught that no matter what country we are in, we are Israel. The same applies to Muslims. The DIFFERENCE is that Israel is one small country, whereas the Arab Nation has bloated from ONE country - Saudi - to encompass dozens. The seems to be the agenda behind rabid Islam : to consume everything and make it part of the Arab Nation.
Jews are 'Westernized' because we're civilized and debate is genetic, IMO. Rabid Muslims - as opposed to those Muslims screaming for the destruction of Saddam without the media paying the least bit of attention - are still stuck in the 11th century because that was the last century in which freedom of thought was encouraged in their culture.
