Except that you don't have a problem with people who instigate flame wars as long as they agree with your position.
The poster in question entered this thread instigating a flame war, his post was pulled, and he continued instigating by either making derogatory remarks directly at me, or talking about me to others.
I was not directing myself at him, I was having a conversation with someone else--one that you injected yourself into with your usual..."style"--and I ignored his insults for a while, but this "person's" method is quite clear...initiate the flame war, then sit back and feign victimhood.
There's a whole lot of feigning going on in this forum lately. It's a cowardly, low thing to so
There's a whole lot of feigning going on in this forum lately.Who can instigate a flame war, if one doesn't want to play? One can respond, or not, in kind, or not.
The devil doesn't make us do it.
I ended up "buring" myself? Would that be "burying" Toothy? Not to mention irony.
Revisionism is your trick, as is jumping to conclusions, and casting aspersions."Burning." I was attempting some wordplay with "flame war," but I botched it, and no one understood what I was saying. Sorry about that.
You're big into forum posting guidelines, aren't you Toothy?Perhaps I should spend more time casting assertions.
That goes right along with forum decorum...you know, like making sure that you include the person you're talking about in the To: portion of your post.
I was flagged to this thread after leaving it alone, and was responding to a charge, trying to do so in such a way as to not reopen the whole matter.
In hindsight, I think I fumbled on that count and I should have pinged you. I apologize for the omission.
BTW, I got your link on the Fiqh Council, thanks. I was looking over the State Department doc, and doing a little clicking around to familiarize myself with them, when things went the another way the other night.
They don't seem to be as high profile as some other Islamic orgs. Are they Wahabbi? What is their influence?
