I just heard on the radio. His name is (not given name)

Major Asar Ackbar.

I don't know the correct spelling just spelled it like it sounded.

Also Major is part of his name not rank.

There's also another thread I saw with his name. Apparently from what I heard, he converted to islam in the ME? This is second hand info so I am not sure. At any rate, it is sad because a soldier is dead.
