Freepers News! WE WON! Today's Rally at West Street Plaza in Reno turned into a march. We marched to the Federal Building and TOTALLY overwhelmed the war-protesters.

Our FReep at the Iowa State Capitol today was a smashing success!
The State Patrol estimated the crowd at about 2000, which I think was pretty accurate.
Not a single peacemonger dared show their face, even though all of the local media touted the event in the last couple of days.
We got full-blown media coverage, including all 4 local TV stations.
We had a fantastic singer, bagpipers, full support by the veterans groups, and I spoke for about 15 minutes.
The highlight was that we put all of the families of those in active service on the steps in front of the podium...probably at least 200 people, and then I went down the row and had them share who their loved one was, which branch, and which outfit. Lots of tears flowed--it was very powerful.

Wow, ABC News reporter Chris Cuomo is Mario's son?! Well, for that report anyway, he did a great job - very fair and balanced.
Thanks for the info. I always get an answer from FReepers when I put a question out there on FR! :-)

"There's no point to civil disobedience. It's Saturday. Everything's closed."I guess it's as good a reason as you'll get from the anti-war protestors.

Nice to hear we are winning.
But the traitorous MSNBC skunks did a 2-minute summary of todays events and called it "AMERICA PROTESTS"
They devoted 80% of the coverage to the anti-war scum.
two-thirds of the way thru the coverage, they changed the huge banner at the bottom of the screen to "ANTI-WAR PROTESTS" This, while actually showing our side waving flags and singing patriotic songs.
MSNBC does this type of crap a LOT. Even during Michael Savage's show, watch the subtitles on the screen or the scrolling Marquee at the bottom. It is usually opposite his message.
And the 'NEWS BREAKS' inserted during Joe Scarborough's show are sickening too. They are sometime subtle or sometime obvious contradictions of what Joe is saying!

MSNBC is also DROOLING over every dead U.S. soldier, and rushing to interview every relative, or every person who knew him, in order to drum up anti-war feelings. The U.S. should just quietly notify the families and give no specific details to these jackels. Let the grieving families go public if they so choose.

I HATE to give a commercial plug for anyone unless it is due.
The first night.. even before we knew how many tomahawks we had sent in.. CNN was showing "injured" people in the hospital. ABC, CBS, and NBC were also giving more time to wondering how and why we were starting...
FOX News was busy telling us that our troops were "ready."
Obviously, I only have one news channel on now. Even when I check the others, the result is the same.. a spin showing us as the bad guys...
Not on my watch...

On the car radio (maybe CBS news)said there were scrimishes in Reno - Were there or are they lying again? Plus the radio gal reporter said the ProWar people didn't support Bush just America made a big point of that. What is the truth.

There were no negative things happening at all.. cept for the poor anti's feelings were hurt. The worst I heard was one of the pro's telling an anti that they needed to go on vacation (to france).
The local reno paper gave us a very negative spin. The anti's were complaining that we didn't have a permit to gather.. they are just mad because we were SO much louder than they were (and they had amplifiers)...
There were "Support President Bush" signs all over the place. "Support our troops" and even "Martin Sheen isn't the president" signs.
