>>France is sending specialists to Iraq

For what? <<

There have been numerous complaints about the sauce on the military food, so we need their help in creating an exquisite roux.

In fact, the French have invented what may be a huge breakthrough in treatment of chemical agent casualties- it's called "Diphoterine", and appears to work for most of the common chemical war gasses (especially mustard gas).

So they may be able to be of help after all.

Also, between the French and the Germans, since they sold Saddam most of his WMD technology, they should be able to help us find it and counteract it...

LOL! That would be just like the marines to drive the French specialists deep into the heart of Iraq and then point them to a Johnny-on-the-Spot. "There you go buds, we think it's toxic."

Or perhaps on a mission to cover up a few "made in France" labels.

They want to get into the sites and destroy the evidence. The French are not safe in Iraq with US Forces their. They may make it to Qatar but not Iraq.

Actually they've gone to Qatar. They negotiated the deal last week. Of course it's only announced now and being sent now that there is no danger to Qatar where the French troops will be. How the heck the French thing there going to be allowed in to Iraq is beyond me. They'd have to get permission from the US and Britain who I can’t see letting France make a grandstanding move like this.
