Thanks for posting this story.

Veteran Returns Medal Given For World War II Service
WASHINGTON -- A Pennsylvania man held a personal protest against France Friday in D.C.
George Wilson, 80, is a veteran of World War II and he disagrees with the decision by the French government not to back the U.S. in its invasion of Iraq.
On Friday, Wilson showed up at the gates of the French Embassy to give back an honor the French government gave him a few years ago.
The man from Bethlehem, Pa., helped liberate France in the Normandy Invasion. As a 21-year-old rifleman, he was wounded.
For his efforts, the French government gave him the Jubilee of Liberty Medal in 1998.
Wilson received three purple hearts. He said he felt stabbed by the French government when it refused to stand behind the U.S. in the U.N. in supporting military use to disarm Saddam Hussein.
So Wilson tried to give the medal back.
The deputy press counselor came outside to invite him in. However, the embassy would not take the medal back.
In the end, Wilson left the medal just inside the embassy gates. Wilson said he wanted to be clear that returning the medal was not a slap at the French people but the French government.
Wilson is the second veteran to return a medal to the French Embassy. The other soldier mailed his to the embassy.
