A Dallas man died early Friday after being struck by a truck at a Pleasant Grove motel and dragged for more than two miles, Dallas police said.
The body of Donald Ray Hill, 47, was found about 2:30 a.m. in the street in the 8400 block of Londonderry Lane. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Jimmie Wayne Anderson, 43, is wanted on an arrest warrant for murder, police said. Police also were searching for a gray Dodge truck with a black flatbed that Mr. Anderson was driving.
According to police, the two men had been arguing in the parking lot of the Lawnview Motel in the 5400 block of Lawnview Avenue. Mr. Hill believed Mr. Anderson and others had broken into his car, police said.
"When [Mr. Anderson] backed up to point his truck toward the street, he struck Mr. Hill, dropping him to his knees," said Sgt. Ross Salverino of the homicide unit. He added that the truck continued until "Mr. Hill was directly in front of his truck. It appeared to witnesses that he intentionally ran over Mr. Hill. The body of Mr. Hill became hung up in the undercarriage of the truck."
Sgt. Salverino said investigators believe Mr. Anderson knew Mr. Hill's body was under the truck.
Police said Mr. Hill had lived in the motel for about six months, and Mr. Anderson had stayed there on and off for about two years.
"They've been friends for six or eight months," Sgt. Salverino said. "They went out drinking together. They did dope together."
Anybody who knows the whereabouts of Mr. Anderson is asked to call the homicide unit at 214-671-3661.

In Texas, if you murder someone, you're going to pay. "Do the crime, do the time."
They can't blame Bush for this one. He wasn't in Texas when this happened. < /sarcasm >
The "Wayne" gene strikes again.
