Breaking on ABC News as reported by Ted Koppel. elements of the 3rd Infantry Division came in contact with elements of the Iraqi 11th Armored Division near the town of Nasariyah. One U.S. soldier wounded in fighting. A key bridge was secured and will be used by U.S. Marines to cross to the east of the 3rd Division's route of advance. Approximately sixty percent of the Iraqi 11th Armored Division had surrendered. In addition the 3rd I.D. is nearing an airfield that once secured will be used as a forward staging point for further advances and as a field hospital location. Ted Koppel's doing a great job reporting the exploits of the Marne division.

Greg Kelly is reporting on FNC from the 3rd ID. Apparently some Iraqis with AK-47's "tried to gun down a Bradley Armored Fighting Vehicle. You can imagine how that one turned out."

Has the Iraqi Air Force done anything? Have they even fired one SAM?

Ted Koppel reporting now 1:34 AM. 60% desertion rate of the 11th Iraqi division, many Iraqi tanks destroyed in hard fought nightime battle with the remaining elements of the 11th.

ABC, sheesh...that is written like an intelligence report for the enemy! It probably won't matter against the hapless Iraqis, but that is the kind of information a real enemy could use to kill Americans, if true.
To: merrin
Why didnt they just commit suicide, what could they possibly been thinking?

One American casualty. Soldier shot in the chest by an Iraqi sniper but is alive and was medevacked out. We should all be so lucky to have such miracles in earlier wars.

Have they even fired one SAM?
It looked like a couple were fired over Baghdad in the earlier attack. Reports were that many SAMs were fired in response to attacks in Northern Iraq.

That sounds like jihadist crazies. I wonder if Saddam posted those non-Iraqi Arab volunteers around there, like Osama posted his Pakistani minions in Afghanistan.

Greg Kelley from Fox keeps hinting at big news as far as their objective.
He keeps saying that as soon as the miltary oks it, he'll report the news.
The images coming from these reports are amazing.

I guess some of Saddam's boys came down to stiffen their resolve. They made a half-hearted stand. The Iraqi regular army's good news so far. Saddam's Republican Guards are a much tougher nut to crack but bottom line I don't think they're a match four our military.

Yeah, I know my delivery was a little dry there. I was in the 3rd Infantry Division when I was at Ft. Stewart, GA and I can't tell you how proud I am of those guys. Out of all the networks, Ted's been giving the best reports and pics of the 3rd.

Of course, since I don't have cable I can't get FOX News Channel unless the local FOX afiliate in Louisville picks up their feed so from what I've see Ted's doing a good job of covering the 3rd. I'm still proud of them though-great job troops!

LOL...I wasn't commenting on your delivery...I was commenting that ABC is putting out some pretty detailed info on our troop movements. If they are accurate, and if the Iraqis could find their butt with both hands, it could be dangerous. Am I wrong?
