Some of this fire are the bullets and shells going off in the tank burning. But, the reporter did say there was possible gunfire going off around the corner.

That's not the 3rd Cav, it's the 3rd Infantry Division.Sorry, CNN has the 3rd Cav. FOX has the 3rd ID.
Its the 3rd Cav that spotted the Iraq tanks and were waiting for artillery.
To: GOPyouth
The sounds were to sharp and high-pitched to be tank shells.
To: Tree of Liberty
Can you fill me in on what tow vehicles are? He said they were called in for some heavier fire, but I'm not sure exactly which vehicles these are.

Good Morning y´all!
I just woke up and heard of 6 dead British soldiers and one Amercian killed by a Sea King accident. Concerning news - what´s wrong with their helis?
Reports say that the allied forces are ca. 120 miles away from Baghdad, Basra still isn´t under allied control.
Turkey´s behaviour is also not acceptable, we have to wait how they will engage in that war - if more passive or active.
So, how many brave soldiers died up to now?
14 British forces
7 American soldiers ?
So 21 total, 2 of them in combat. It´s a tragedy, 19 souls lost by accidents.

Good Morning, fell asleep....
thanks for the new thread...
FTR there is no assassination...this was during a declared action
For it to be assassination, both country's would NOT be engaged, If someone was killed silenty in France, that's assassination
Killed publicly in a country that we are in an armede conflict with....not.
period, no natter what some liberal nut case might say

I think it's just the odds. There's an extraordinary numbers of operations occurring now, so eventually there's just going to be an accident. It's probably just dumb bad luck that the Brits have taken most of the losses so far.
I'm actually pleasantly surprised that there haven't been more allied casualties. Keep in mind that the U.S. had 141 KIA's in the '91 Gulf war, 121 of which were friendly fire.
To: RepublicanArmy
Probably. The BUFF's took off from England an hour or two ago.
To: Tree of Liberty
I´m pretty sure that the number of lost servicemen will increase. I don´t want to predict a number, but the worst battle will be to take Baghdad. We can see that even Basra is well defended - compared with what we expected.
The Iraqi resistance is concentrated to the cities. That´s exactly what we fear!

Out in the car 20 mins ago, I heard a report from BBC Radio 5 Live (UK station) that the desert rats were about to enter southern Iraq.
