I agree. I think these should be removed for the safety of the troops and their families.

Taken from NYT photo essay "as is" If you think they should be pulled, by all means ping the admin. mod. I'm going to go out on a limb and say that Uday's got his own unique set of problems that ought to command his utmost attention.

Time to go to bed. B-52's just took off from England, so the big visuals should begin in about 6-9 hours.

Ok.
Let's take a look at history using the Legal aspect as the liberals are using.
WW2
Japan: Legal Congress declared war.
Germany: Illegal Congress did not declare war on Germany.
Italy: Illegal Congress did not declare war on Italy.
Korea: Legal Congress approved the Treaty (UN) which led to the start of this one. Section V of the Constitution No peace treaty signed, in state of cease fire.
Viet Nam: Questionable up to the point of the NVA involvement. SEATO Treaty. Did the treaty demand the use of military in what was an "internal uprising", up until the overt NVA actions. Once the NVA took a overt action the US involvement would have been covered by the SEATO Treaty. Section V of the Constitution.
Gulf War 1: Again UN treaty. Also Congress approved military action. No peace treaty signed, cease fire.
Iraq to disarm.
No WMD.
No missiles with a range of greater than 150KM.
Trade sanctions
Iraq has been linked to Terrorist attacks in the US. WTC 1993.
Iraq has tried to kill a former President of The US
Intelligence has linked Iraq to Terrorist training
Iraq openly supports and supplies terrorist action against Israel.
Congress approved the use of the military to combat terrorist at the presidents discretion.
This brings us to March 18.
Disarmament Inspections not being fully complied with.
Weapons have been found that have been in violation prior to resumption of military action.
France threatened veto of military action under any condition.
France is thought to be breaking sanctions.
Since the 18th.
There are reports of Scud missiles be used. (Im still not convinced on this since the media is reporting all surface to surface missiles as Scuds)
There are reports that a couple of WMD caches have been found. (Not confirmed yet that I know of at this time)

GOOD! I knew that's what those sneaky little things had in mind when they refused us a base.

Not blaming you, I have a bugabo about this. Uday's remarks were less than a week ago and may have been a signal to agents in the US.

CNN back to the artillary firing with the 7th Calvary in Iraq. Reporter on the scene saying copters have flown up to see what's up that way. The big ass howitzers are having fun. They've been stalled for a quite a while.
One thing that is interesting is that they are in the mud. I'm sure that's a nice change from that dang sand.

"Iraq and all its sons are fully ready to confront the invading aggressors and repel them," according to an Iraqi cabinet statement quoted by the TV station, which is owned by Uday. "The wives and mothers of those Americans who will fight us will weep blood, not tears," said Uday, Saddam's elder son.

Good. Baghdad can wait. If regime collapses, other units can step in. If there is resistance, Shock and Awe to the Nth degree can soften for a few days.

I'm not the least bit offended by your concern. By all means sterilize the personal information at your convenience.
The way 'they' speak to project fear or a threat is flavored with more explicit adjectives than what we might use. A western expression might go like this: We will destroy all enemy emplacements. An Iraqi expression might go like this: We will bath in your blood and send your mother a basket with your head in it. Same meaning- just a little more dramatic.
I'm just not the least bit concerned with Saddam or his agents studying Free Republic to glean intelligence.
