In one article Uday gathered some of his friends to kidnap Scott Ritter when he was still a UN weapons inspector because he "insulted" Uday. Apparently, Uday and his buddies got so drunk that they mistakenly went after a group of Iraqi citizens and one of them accidentally shot himself in the leg.

These are the kind of people that the liberals embrace and support while spitting on their own country. Their "for the children" crap is transparent and worthless. They don't care about Iraqi, Afghani, and U.N. atrocities against kids.

Another thorny issue - that of the Iraqi National Olympic Committee president Uday Hussein, the son of Saddam Hussein - has been put aside as well.
The London human rights organisation Indict has presented the IOC with a damming report about Uday Hussein's inhumane treatment of some of his country's top sportspeople.
Indict claims that Uday Hussein was a sadist and tortured one athlete for 18 hours a day and that in 1989 he ordered the Iraqi football team have their heads shaved and be beaten with baseball bats after losing a game. The organisation also claims that he made athletes crawl on hot, freshly poured asphalt, while a basketballer was once caged with wild dogs.
"It is inconceivable that a national Olympic committee that maintains its own prison and torture chambers could remain a member in good standing of the Olympic movement," Indict said in its formal complaint.
But IOC sources said it was extremely unlikely that Uday Hussein or the Iraqi Olympic Committee would face action

I am saddened and deeply troubled that we are going to war with a person who chooses an alternative lifestyle.

Before he recently defected, Abbas Al-Janabi served as Uday Hussein's press secretary. But his high-ranking position did not protect him.
Janabi says he was beaten for three days in 1991 for trying to quit his job. And he says Uday Hussein laughed at his injuries.
A dispute about work again that year landed Janabi in a special prison inside a presidential palace. This time Janabi says Uday sent his bodyguard to pull out one of Janabi's front teeth. The bodyguard took the tooth to prove to Uday that the punishment had been carried out.
Unconfirmed reports of torture and brutality by Iraq's first family have trickled out of Iraq for years.
"You can't find any of Uday's friends, he can't show you any of his friends without they are leaning (limping) or without wounds. Even his bodyguards. Even his people who serve him, give him or prepare for him food or drinks. He always likes to torture people."

Uday Hussein, the other of Saddam Hussein's sons whose exile was demanded by Bush, also brushed off the U.S. demands, calling Bush "a person who is not completely capable or fit."
"The proposal should be that Bush leaves office in America, he and his family," Uday Hussein said in a statement issued by his office. "The wives and mothers of those Americans who will fight us will weep blood, not tears." They should not imagine that they will have a safe spot inside the land of Iraq or outside it."
Saddam's son, Uday Hussein, said Bush was stupid. He said Bush wanted to attack Iraq because of his family. And he said American boys would die.

God forgive me, but if this monster is still alive, I hope the common folk find him and tear him limb from limb.

Sorry, in your blind zeal and in your lust for a cheap shot, you have gotten the facts wrong. The Vatican has repeatedly urged Iraq to comply with UN demands and to conduct its affairs in a humane fashion.
Its a matter of how to challenge this. The Vatican urged a peaceful challenge. You hate that fact. So you demonize.

Of course, the DU'ers will never accept these "lies". Must be CIA propaganda, yeah, that's it. Indeed, in fact they don't believe the people tortured. Here's their thread on this same story:

On our local ABC station (NYC) they led tonight's 5 pm broadcast with shots of Iraqis greeting the coalition soldiers - gleefully. Dancing with arms above heads, gladhanding them for dear life with huge grins, as well as a shot of an Iraqi man beating on one of those huge Saddam posters with his shoe! Priceless.

HEADLINE: Iraq warns France of high price to pay for UN vote
DATELINE: BAGHDAD, Dec 5
BODY:
An official Iraqi newspaper warned France on Sunday of a high price to pay if it sides with the
United States in a UN Security Council vote linking a suspension of sanctions to a new disarmament
regime.
Such a vote would be "the last straw for Iraqi-French relations," said Babel, a daily run by
President Saddam Hussein's elder son, Uday.
As a result it would be "only logical for the French (oil) companies Elf and Total to close their
offices in Baghdad and lose the immense concessions which they have won but not yet exploited."
"The numerous advantages which French companies enjoy on the Iraqi market could also be halted,"
Babel said, protesting that Iraqis had "suffered a lot because of the position adopted by the
French government."
