The guy in charge in the South, Saddam's cousin "Chemical" Ali must have sucked on the lead lollipop already.

I think he may have died in the cruise missile attack. 'Chemical Ali' is/was one mean customer.

But Dan Blahder was just interviewing someone who said that US must be deeply disappointed that not enough surrenders were taking place. Call them "scattered defections".

Poor See-BS they wont be happy unless Saddam comes out of Baghdad into the desert and surrenders himself.

Did you say "scattered defacations?"
To: Destro
I think the surrenderees are going back to Kuwait as to not slow down the race to Baghdad.

Most of the regular army is Shiite; There aren't enough Sunnis for the entire Iraqi armed forces to be Sunni. The RGs are largely Sunni, however.

Just heard on ABC Radio News: surrender of commander and deputy commander of 51st Division announced.
To: ewing
The surrender of the 51st was also reported by the New York Times. Haven't heard anything about the 11th anywhere else though.

Negotiation? Surrender or die seems to be the extent of it to me.

Yep, they said Hussein sent his most loyal people to the South.

Race to Baghdad. Kinda like the Patton-Montgomery race to Salerno.
