Ebola: The terrifying virus that causes Ebola hemorrhagic fever. Symptoms usually begin between two and 21 days of exposure to either the virus itself or fluids from an infected individual. Those sickened experience flu-like symptoms followed by internal and external bleeding, and often, death. There is no known antidote.Didn't Saddam say recently that the mothers and children of American soldiers would bleed from the eyes?
Personally, I took that as a threat, not just hyperbole.

That's a pretty specific descrition, complete with make model and plate number. Not a particularly common vehcicle in Mexico either. Especially not in the Yucatan.

What is really strange is the border wait times have been quicker since the war began than they've ever been. 30 minutes was the last I'd seen when traditionally 2 hours is common ---and that's not counting Anapra where you can easily get over (not legally) in just minutes.We have been hearing the same thing. Had a friend recently come up and he stated it was a cake walk getting back in and, and he is from IRAN....

You are correct on Ebola as well...
All types in severe cases can cause hemorrhagic syndromes that cause severe internal and external bleeding in places such as internal organs, under the skin and from the eyes, nose, mouth and ears. Symptoms generally include high fever, dizziness, muscle aches and exhaustion. The first symptoms may be felt from two days to three weeks after exposure. Advanced symptoms include shock, nervous system malfunction, seizures and coma. Fatality rates range from 90 percent for Ebola to 1 percent for Lassa.

I just hope to God, they are either stopped or do not succeed. On that we agree.
Our only real disagreement is who the real villian is.

There is a difference between opposing war in Iraq and thinking that the US deserved 9/11.
Most Western countries have opinion polls mirroring the Mexican opinion polls.
To: ravingnutter
SYMPTOMS OF EXPOSURE INCLUDE BLEEDING FROM THE EYES, EARS, AND NOSE TWO MINUTES AFTER EXPOSURE.
Thanks. I think.

My own agenda? HA! Have you missed the world the past week where Presidente Fox has refused to support the war in Iraq? Where ~70% of Mexicans are opposed to the US in Iraq? Where have YOU been and what is YOUR agenda besides head in the sand?Some folks can't remember what day it is....

You're 100% right about this, but still, we need to do better. We can't stop them, but we can make the cost of doing business very high;
You think it is possible to seal our borders against a clever enemy? - Wrong. Our lives will always be at risk as long as terror remains vogue in Arab lands.

Actually, the Canadian border should be closed too--needs maybe even more attention than the southern border. When I went camping last summer, I crossed the border a million times over the space of five days, and saw not a single game warden or official.

When did I ever mention some sort of wall as being a solution? Quit building up straw men arguments please. Even if I did specify a wall, it would be an improvement over what Bush hasn't done in terms of securing our borders!
Regardless of what an annoynomous poster on FR claims to being working for the govt (snort) and says the borders are more secure means nothing. All I see and hear is folks still strolling in and now possible biological weapons slipping in.

I hope there's vigilante justice involved!Otherwise we will have to sit a stupid court trial and be made to worry about their phoney rights!

Yea Yea...I do not want to hear it. For months people have said that the sive in the south we call a border was a national threat..but the one world, free traders thought it was worth the risk for cheap gardeners and nannys..live with it!
To: Joe Hadenuf
Whether or not this particular story has any real basis in fact remains to be seen. There is no doubt that we are vulnerable. The open borders, illegals working on military bases and aircraft carriers, setting up tents for the President, and the generally stupid politically correct multicultural diversity nonsense is setting us up for a major hit.
It will happen sooner or later.

So, if you're ready to actually discuss it instead of blabbering... let's go:
The US has over 20,000 miles of borders. Where do you want to start? What do you think, maybe a soldier every ten feet? would that be good enough? I just love it when the "seal the borders" know-it-alls show up. Gosh! Seal the borders! It was so simple!
Once you're finished turning the country into a very large prison, maybe you can tell us how to keep contraband out of prisons. That isn't going so well either.

On that we agree. Our only real disagreement is who the real villian is.Well it's the entire American leadership. If these or other terrorist enter and wreck havoc on America, AGAIN, and kill a couple of hundred thousand American in another terrorist attack, I personally will be calling for the arrest to all those politicians and leaders who refused to do their sworn duties and uphold the law.

"Might I ask what Bush has done to STRENGTHEN our borders?? I'm really looking forward to hearing that. "
-----
You could just do a simple Google search or keep up with the news. Here is just one example.
President Bush Signs Border Security and Visa Entry Reform Act
http://usinfo.state.gov/topical/global/immigration/02051401.htm The new legislation will increase the size of the security force guarding U.S. borders, facilitate the use of technology to strengthen border management operations, and require foreign visitors to carry tamper-proof passports and visas. By introducing the latest technological advances into border security measures, the legislation will help "deny fraudulent entry into America," Bush declared.
=====
And here is another one:
"Homeland security has become a major priority for the Bush administration. President Bush late last week said he would ask Congress to spend roughly $11 billion next year on securing the nation's borders to keep out terrorists who would try to attack the United States by air, land or sea."
http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2002/01/25/national/printable325575.shtml -----
But I am sure you are much happier bashing Bush unjustly, than to get informed.
Are you sure you are not a sleeper or a DU plant? You sound a great deal like those people, if I can use the term loosely.
