KURD STATE, NOT PALESTINIAN STATE, SHOULD BE OUR GOAL TODAY

Turkey again says no to the USA. Always when we open one door for Turkey, there is another from Turkey shut against us. Turkey is no better than France. And, I say, if anyone, any people, are deserving of a “state”, it is the Kurds in Northern Iraq who have been murdered on a mass scale, who have been persecuted and denied the most basic rights, so much more so on any scale than the Palestinians, and it is the Kurds of Northern Iraq who for every reason, culturally, ethnically, politically, historically, and for reasons of being so persecuted, deserve their own country, their own state -- and considering the back-stabbing Turks, I say the priority should be, since the Turks did this to us and are no better than Iraqi-loving France, I say tell the Turk bastards you have no role in post war Iraq, stay the hell out, and we should make it a priority to help establish an independent “Kurdanian” state in Northern Iraq, a priority that for America should far out way even the thought or in action a goal of a “Palestinian” state – the Kurds help us, the Palestinians dance in the streets when the Iraqis or the terrorists murder us. The leftists march with the Palestinians in the streets in support of Iraq, and the leftists dance in the streets with the Palestinians when Americans are murdered, as the leftists cry "Free Palestine" and attack Israel. I say the right-wing should cry "Free Kurdistan" in like measure, and shove the same sort of rhetoric right back in the faces of the left.

Turkey is trying to be a friend to us but the local politics of it all is too complicated. They do not deserve the scorn France deserves.

I will continue to admire Turkey -- even as they take a flying trot . . .

Any Kurdish state would be dominated by Marxist-Leninist revolutionaries.

I disagree. They were on board, btw, until France refused to help with NATO defense supplies. It has been a roller-coaster since then.

I see a huge difference between Turkey and France.

They're not trying hard enough. Government of Turkey, please enroll in Professor Tony Blair's class in Leadership 101.

LOL. They are a neighbor to Iraq and that does make them far more vulnerable. Plus, middle east politics is weird. I just feel strongly that we need to accept whatever Turkey feels it can do and leave it at that. Now...that's not to say our aid package (whatever you call it) cannot be adjusted accordingly...

I agree totally. I'm not thriled with the Turks right now, but comparing then to the French is a bit much.

However, I'm first to say that there should be no foreign aid to Turkey and the Kurds should be given at the least a semi-autonomous provence.
