Dear Killjoy,

My original post "Deal", while it maaaayy have sounded like an abrupt command meaning "Deal with it" was in fact my friendly way of saying "It's a Deal".

:)

Dunno. Reporter said they believed that the conflict would be finished soon, his unit didn't think it was a big deal(of course that could be spin). Iraq unit is a regular one, not Republican Guard.

I have to admit to not being very informed about the turkey/kurds situation..but my uneducated guess is that they just denied us the right to stage there, and then used our victories in order to sneak over and start a territorial type fight with the kurds....
so now what?

and the phrase "Those FrenchTurkeys" is completely funny to me. Forget calling someone a twit...oh..I should nap

Uplifting and deatiled post. You're doing great. This is a very friendly (but demanding
for factual accuracy) place. Thought provoking, that the Iraqi nationals here are more in tune with the ideal of personal freedom, than the US peace protesters. I say leave the peace protesters in the US, we're stronger, and more able to stifle their crap. OTOH, maybe the soon-to-be liberated Iraqi people will be better teachers to the peaceniks.

Your comments touched my heart. Thank you for the sacrafice that you and your husband are making. People like you and your husband are the reason America is a great nation. Your commitment and service is a slap in the face to all those unfortunate and misguided people who are permitted to excersize their freedom by protesting.

I am reminded of a Scripture that goes something like: What greater love is there than one person be willing to lay their life down for another. (paraphrase)

The sad part is, that many people never even consider the lives that have been laid down for them throughout our history and what that sacrafice means to them personally. It is the blood of American soldiers that provided them the very rights that they so freely express.

May God's loving arms protect your husband and bring him home safely to your loving arms.

They love America, but Iraq is their home and they know what kind of a country they can be when they are allowed too

These are the folks who really understand. I can't imagine the excitement they must be feeling - it's exciting enough for me and I don't have a personal connection to Iraq.

Great post. And welcome to FR !!!!!
