Aaghhh, I missed the Dashole interview. Short version is . . .
E.D.: Who is to blame for the diplomatic failure, GWB or the French?
Daschle: I don't want to talk about that now.
E.D.: (obviously incensed) I WISH you WOULD!
He didn't.
To: Ramius
Dittos to that.

The quick sprint towards Baghdad reminds me of Patton's admonishment that we should always be advancing, never just holding ground.
To: Ramius
Sadly, the soldier's father is the one who is blaming George Bush for "taking his only son."

I don't want to talk about that.
He said it in French.

Thank you for posting that. Sometimes we might forget that this isn't just television, and that real people have died. And judging by this picture, I would say some very fine people.
So true. And, let's not forget those heroes who are still in Afghanistan, Philippines, Colombia, and so many other hotspots around the globe.

Does Baghdad have an infestation of birds or something? It sucks that we can't kill the bad guys without hurting songbirds -- but can you imagine the rejoicing of the Iraqi people after they have been relieved of their burden? Can you imagine that? Oh, what joy!
To: Cboldt
Hopefully when we get into Baghdad we can find out where the downed pilot from 91 is. His name slips my mind.

That picture brought tears to my eyes. Son, you should be so proud of your father. I hope you grow up to be a fine man like he was.

They're eating the cost, like during 9/11. They're probably hoping to make it up with increased viewership when they start the ads back up.

FN: Chris Kline from N. Iraq:
"Last few hours the attacks over Kirkuk have seemed more intense."
Iraqi anti-aircraft fire intense.
"Constant, pulsing flame that went on for hours and hours and hours."
Here in the Northern no-fly zone, Kurdish troops waiting....ideal landing zone...3 miles from Iraqi positions...took fire from Iraqi mortar today...expect ground campaign to begin soon.
