Why is anything Iraqi still twitching within 100 miles or so of Kuwait? Are the raid sirens being triggered by our own stuff?

that we have people in this congress and this country who can't get past their political affiliation tells me we need to start cleaning our American blood line and shut those borders for a couple years

Mentioned early in Day 1's thread, I happened to hear Jennings on the radio Thursday a.m. and he was saying that often war doesn't go as well as it seems to be when things start and said "I'm not saying anyone's lying..." (Uh, right.) He is not just anti-conservative, he's truly anti-American. I wonder how his sneering is going over ratingswise compared to the over-the-air nets.

Could you imagine for one minute what it would be like to live in Iraq? Here we sit at our computers, watching the news feeling downright safe and snug. I look at the tv and see guys in gas masks, sirens going off, tanks rolling around and it absolutely amazes me....

The first thing people seem to automatically jump on with these chopper crashes is mechanical problems when in reality the deadliest thing by far is the whirling sand. It can quickly disorient the pilots and without altitude and airspeed the results are disasterous. More mechanical problems are cause by sand as opposed to age of aircraft.

I heard Hackworth on Sean Hannity's show today. He is claiming that his raising a ruckus in the media, along with some other media types like Mike Wallace, is responsible for the troops getting the proper chemical weapons gear?! Anyone know if that's true or not?
To: Gracey
What's with Hackworth. Is he a Democrat Dove?
I heard him cast aspersions on the administration and the military leadership one time too many. He thought we weren't prepared for this war for a time. He is just trying to sell his book, IMO.
And I think his "outfits" are a little much.

Jennings' act has become so blatant I'm really amazed that many Americans would bother to watch him, especially if they have cable.
Media Research Center has some good coverage of him re the war so far, I am going to be interested to see their next report.

IIRC, Scuds have a range of rougly 200 miles, and Iraq modified some of them to fly up to rougly 400 miles.
