WASHINGTON (AP) - With U.S. military action in Iraq under way, some anti-war House Democrats sought Thursday to continue a debate within their party on more peaceful ways to disarm Saddam Hussein.
However, freshman Rep. Jim Marshall of Georgia objected to convening a Democratic caucus to debate the war so soon after it started.
"The time for debate is past," Marshall said, interrupting a news conference called by Texas Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee, who gathered the 50 signatures necessary to convene the caucus on short notice.
"Even in the face of war, voices for peace and reconciliation can be raised," Jackson Lee said.
She had hoped to convene a caucus meeting Thursday evening, but under party rules, an objection from any member can delay a meeting for up to five days.

This is not surprising, they can't come together on anything else, either.

Can't you just envision the parades when thousands of Iraqis hold pictures of W in the street chanting "God is Great" and "Bush is Great" on televion in the weeks to come. Of course, that won't be covered on CNN or ABC, but it will be fun to watch. Canned GOP ads for 2004, courtesy of liberating people who are used to living under a dictator; like we did under Clinton.

I just love hearing Ms.Lee speak. She has the brain of a pea and the mouth of a gorilla in heat who has not been fed lately.

However, freshman Rep. Jim Marshall of Georgia objected to convening a Democratic caucus to debate the war so soon after it started. At least Rep. Marshall did one honorable thing in his one term in Congress. Pelosi and the rest of the Rat House leadership will bury him over this.
If nothing else, picking up another House seat just got easier for the Republicans.

HA HA!! I couldn't have said it better myself!! Isn't she the same Queen who used our tax dollars to have a limo shuttle her fat tukus back and forth to her office, despite it being a two-block walk? what an useless troll.

Senator Biden said the time for debate is over.
Our troops are in harm's way, and most Americans, both Democrats and Republicans, are united behind our military.
After the war is over, there will be plenty of time for nitpicking and hairsplitting.
This Congresswoman has no class

Jim Marshall is trying to put on a false face for his constituients down in Middle Georgia. Fact is he is a socialist clymer of the worst sort. The only reason he won was because the Pubs put up a silly little life long frat boy to run against him. Many ballots left blank.

Jim Marshall is trying to put on a false face for his constituients down in Middle Georgia.then you should be doubly glad at this news, becuase Marshall just signed his own death warrant. No way Pelosi lets this kind of insolence go unpunished.
To: Phlap
By the time the Dems stop peeing on each others' shoes the whole thing will be over.
