Expecting a Kurdish rising?
To: ewing
Guess they saw the Kurds had teamed with the United States and are getting out ahead of any operation! Sounds like Saddam is pulling the Republican Guard all back to Baghdad!

Road trip! Guess they would rather die on the road than in Kirkuk. That's about the limit of their choices.

If it's a military column and it's moving on an Iraqi road it's dead.

If it's a military column and it's moving on an Iraqi road it's dead. Unless its commanders have already made an arrangement with the U.S. military.
To: ewing
Let 'em keep Baghdad. We'll keep the oilfields.

I don't think we want to take any chances. If they're headed to Baghdad, they need to be targeted.

My understanding is that there HASN'T been a RG presence in Kirkuk for a long time; about a billion stories 1-2 weeks ago that the one division withdrew to Tikrit.
