If the law sunsets it will mean that you will not be restricted to ten round magazines, and that all the other banned cosmetic features, such as bayonet lugs, flash suppressors, and collapsible/folding stocks will again be legal. One will be able to acquire AK's and other sundry weapons. Full-auto is still under the 1934 NFA, so nothing will change in that area. In places like California, however, the sunset won't mean a thing, since entire weapons, such as the AR 15, are banned by (unconstitutional) state law. The real victory is more than symbolic, however, because it will signal a change in the direction of federal gun control mentality, and could have positive effects on unconstitutional state laws through the form of a myriad of possibly successful lawsuits from RKBA advocates.

In my view (for what it's worth) We the People ought to set our sites on a mass assault to repeal the Gun Control Act of 1968.
