I wonder. It could also be that Elizabeth will recover from her ordeal much better, due to her parent's careful and nurturing care before the ordeal. She was obviously encouraged to acheive, through music, etc., by her parents. I'm certain she knew she was loved by her parents and the rest of her family.

Such a background should help her to recover from the horror of her captivity. No doubt she'll receive third-party counseling as well, but I suspect her strong family-oriented upbringing will also serve her well.

I've known several Mormon families, and their children have all grown up strong, active, and self-sufficient. While I am not a Mormon (or any other religion), it's clear that the LDS's emphasis on family does build strong characters in its children, while keeping them from cynicism, or at least that's my experience.

What a sad situation that this family has been forced to face! How much sadder it is when people outside of the family, and people who have no knowledge whatever of the family, accuse them of things that are untrue.

Did the father make a speech about the Amber Alert system? Yes, he did. Was it well-advised? Probably not, but it certainly was heart-felt. He got his daughter back, but knew that others had not gotten their abducted children back.

Will a TV program or book come out of this? No doubt, either with or without the input of the Smarts. Far better, I think, with their input. This whole business has cost this family, both monetarily and psychologically. I think we should _all_ leave them to their healing.

I read an article that SLC street folk saying they had seen "Emmanuel" with THREE women after Elizabeths kidnapping.

Ever since I read that I've though there was a chance there was another abductee...one who might even have been murdered.

They've always been around, ethical. Make notes of the names of those who are doing this attacking of the Smarts, then watch for them on other threads. Frankly, I plan to discount what they say, now, regardless of the topic. Their poor judgment has been proven in the Smart threads. I see no reason to trust it in other topics.

I think they were referring to Elizabeth. She was with the other two in public, covered by the veil. That doesn't mean there may not have been another person at some time, but I think this story is referring to Elizabeth as the third person.
