I have never said anything about Elizabeth or her family, I have simply asked questions. I won't apologize for that.

BTW, I am very happy they are finding evidence to put my questions to rest.

I watched a interview of one of the detectives who was amazed anyone could get in through that window, but now admits, that's exactly what happened.

They were trying to railroad Ricci at the time. Since he had a key, they were saying the cut screen was a ruse to mislead investigators.

I hope none of the distortions or falsifications that have gone on in the past few months hamper the prosecution of these two.

Was just transcribing from a breaking oral report of Fox reporter Carol McKinley(?) Not sure if she used the term forensically, but stated that some type of evidence(DNA?) matched the rope and knife to her room.

But--and this might make some people angry--I still find fault with the family, particularly with Ed Smart. They did all the media-savvy things in alerting the public about their daughter's disappearance. Ed Smart and his brother were popular guests on cable television talk shows. Why, one could easily come away with the impression that these men rather enjoyed the attention, regardless of how tragic the situation appeared.

IF THEY WOULDN'T HAVE DONE THAT THE LITTLE GIRL WOULD STILL BE WITH HER KIDNAPPERS!

"Can anyone define sexual assault?? Confined to fondling?? It doesn't say rape??"

WHY THE HE!! DOES THAT MATTER TO YOU? DO YOU WANT TO KNOW IF THEY DID IT DOGGIE STYLE TOO? DO YOU WANT TO KNOW IF SHE LIKED IT? DO YOU WANT TO BE ABLE TO REPLAY IN YOU MIND FOR YOUR OWN GRATIFICATION?

YOU MAKE ME SICK.

Over 457 posts on the Ashleigh Banfield thread, starting about 8:16 pm PST on the 13th last. Headed to the effect that FBI said Elizabeth was Mitchells wife. Others valiantly defended Elizabeth, including someone who had been kidnapped by a bank robber.

My post about Patty Hearst doing fine for Elizabeth, bought forth a blistering rebuttal to me about Patty as a slime bag. Yet to counter this, the 'er fugitive man, gave us a primer on brainwashing and stated that intially Patty was locked in a closet. Ring any bells Freepers?. For nearly a week she had absolutely no toilet facilities at all.

Patty Hearst paid a terrible price for being then, culpable for later unlawful actions. Thank God, at least Elizabeth was spared of engaging in any wrongdoing. Ah well, they will have to confine Mitchell 23 hours a day. An hour for excercise and a shower- if the other gentlemen incarcerated do not get him. I thought we, for Elizabeth, may have ran 60/40 in her favour as an innocent- abducted.

I didn't accuse you of that. In fact, on the other threads I complimented you.

That's not what the detective was saying. He really didn't think anyone could get in that window.

Question: When Elizabeth was first kidnapped Mitchell took her to mountains. They stayed there for about 2 months. Anyone know if Wanda was there as well, during this time?

Were they in a cave or a tent? I'm just curious if she spent all that time alone, by herself with him. A man who broke into her home and dragged her out of her own room.

My mother told me about this other little girl; I think she was about 11. The speculation is that she didn't "work out" and they might have killed her. Horrible, horrible stuff.

I just don't understand the makeup of someone who could do that to an innocent child like Elizabeth.

I heard the Mitchell family is now waying that 'Emmanuel' was sexually abused by a nanny as a child, but that is absolutely no excuse for the unspeakable conduct here.

All the solace we have, I guess is what the Smart pastor said..that Elizabeth is still innocent in the eyes of God and is not accountable for what happened with those monsters.

Amber Alert Activist? Does anyone else think that this outburst by Ed Smart on the very day he is reunited with his daughter was a normal reaction???

Yes! Whether you agree with him or not, it's a normal reaction for a parent who believes that an Amber alert could help to locate missing children to take advantage of the spotlight that he has for the limited time that he has it to advocate what he believes can help other families. The fact that an Amber alert probably wouldn't have helped Elizabeth doesn't negate the fact that it can help other children, and that is what Mr. Smart is fighting for.

Well...

It looks like the Family is gonna let that happen, courtesy of Hollywood, for a fat fee!!!

LOL!!

If this guy was staking her out, you know he had rape on his mind. How horrible.

It shows prior intent; hopefully it would rule out mental illness.

Poor judgment, yes. Child endangerment, not a chance. These were very trusting people who learned a very difficult lesson that it's not wise to trust so easily.

I am quite sure, however, that you will never accept the fact that the parents are guilty of child endangerment.

Well, I think they're guilty in the "naive, poor judgement" sense, but surely, Doc, you don't think they are guilty in the legal sense, do you?

I don't even want to know if Wanda was at the campsite overlooking the Smart house, I don't really want to know the rest of the details..

I do know that prisoners to not take kindly to child torturers in the big house, my guess is that Mitchell and Wanda will not last 3 years in the state pen on their own

Let me address one thing without going way off on a tangent. Mr. Smart was in real estate. I am in real estate. Nobody I know in the business is what I would describe as a "trusting" person. It comes with the territory. You are always sceptable.
