Support for Bush, War Grows

Americans have rallied strongly around President Bush and accepted his call for war with Iraq as the only practical way to remove Saddam Hussein and end the threat posed by his weapons of mass destruction, according to a Washington Post-ABC News Poll conducted last night.

Seven in 10 said they supported Bush's televised call to go to war without the blessing of the United Nations unless Saddam Hussein and his sons leave Iraq within 48 hours.

An equally large majority believe that Bush has done enough to win support from other nations.

And an equally large majority -- 71 percent -- agrees with Bush that war is the only way to disarm Iraq, while about one in four believes there were other practical options.

The prospects of an imminent war with Iraq clearly have captured the public's attention. More than seven in 10 poll respondents reported watching or listening to at least portions of Bush's brief speech last night.

All I can say is Frank Luntz should be congratulated. The guy predicted this exact percentage last night on Hardball after Bush's speech. Right on the money, Frankie boy.

Sadly, liberals everywhere (partially because they are immune to the learning of facts they don't like) still think Bush is forcing this on the nation.

Most Americans, even some of the Jerry Springer nation, rally around our country and President in times of war.
Then there are Daschle, ex-Dem presidents, liberal rags like the AJC, and communist sympathizers.
The good news is the majority is rightly following the lead of our President, who is taking out the trash the previous "leader" left strewn about.

These stats are obviously VERY wrong. Based on the hundreds of thousands (millions?) of people protesting President Bush and his private war these past few weekends, there's no way 70% of the population could be in favor of the racist destruction of Iraq.

It's utterly disgusting when the POTUS lets a mere poll determine our future.

You seem to be impressed with the number of anti-war demonstrators. Have you seen any indication as to the organization behind those demonstrations?

What you are seeing are dedicated marxists and communists -- many of whom are teachers -- and those youngsters they've recently brainwashed.
