Iraqi Foreign Minister: American Soldiers Captured in Iraq to Be Burnt or Beheaded

BAGHDAD, March 18. Iraqi President Saddam Hussein has no intention of carrying out the demands made by US President George Bush in his recent ultimatum. As a Rosbalt correspondent reports, this was announced by Iraqi Foreign Minister Naji Sabri at a press conference in Baghdad today.

He said that the Iraqi people 'elected Mr Hussein as their leader' and they will lead a fierce struggle against the aggressors under his command. The Iraqi foreign minister added that a horrific death awaits any Americans captured on Iraqi territory. 'They will be burnt or beheaded,' said Mr Sabri.

US President George Bush made an ultimatum to Mr Hussein, giving him and his sons 48 hours to leave the country. If these demands are not carried out, the American army will attack Iraq. The deadline of the ultimatum is Wednesday evening.

PRONUNCIATION: gobshite (rhymes with "bob might")

NOUN: Chiefly British Slang A person regarded as mean or contemptible.

ETYMOLOGY:Perhaps ultimately from obsolete gobshite, wad of expectorated chewing tobacco or tobacco juice : gob2 + dialectal shite, excrement (from Middle English shiten, to defecate, from Old English *sctan; see skei- in Appendix I).

Delightful word Ivan... well-chosen and precise.

You're right, this is typical Arab hyperbole and pre-fight boasting. In reality, the only thing the Iraqis would do with an American POW is surrender to him.

Even Nazi Germany respected the Geneva Convention.

Sometimes.

Madivan writes: Precisely why I would threaten them. If they understand that gruesome death will come from such behaviour, and the Foreign Minister is killed as an example, then others will be deterred.

Ivan,

You're pretty much right, however:

Don't threaten , PROMISE!

Nasty savages. Now where did I leave my axe-handle.....?

Freegards and stay safe!

American Soldiers Captured in Iraq to Be Burnt or Beheaded

Fine, NO QUARTER.
We know how to play that game too.
When there are no more Iraqis, there will be no Iraqi problem.
Ever.

Play the Deguello

Edi Amin punished people after they were dead, he handcuffed them with their hands behind them, and turned them on their stomachs and buried them. That was his idea of a good time. Is he now in exile in Saudi Arabia?

Either Saudi or France. Or is that Baby Doc? I get these mad, fat dictators confused. Wonder where Sadaam will end up?

Oh, Hell, of course. Anybody catch his cameo in the South Park movie?

At the battle of the bulge SS troopers killed a mess of US POWs near a town called Malmedy. Until wars end SS troops found it hard to surrender.

I think that not even the leftist clods at AlphaBet City news will be able to suppress the first instance of Dirtbag's minions burning or beheading a soldier (doubtless broadcast over Iraqi state TV, assuming it is still functioning (dubious proposition, certainly) at that point), at which time, I would suspect that LARGE numbers of the usual filth will STFU, or 'SF squared' as Richard Marcinko would say.

Postulating such an event, I **really** would not like to be a vocal Dirtbag apologist any longer. Of course, I believe I'm at least marginally rational, not a quality I should ascribe to any of the above-referenced turds.

What about what our soldiers are doing to prisoners? Is that okay?

Both sides are being perfectly barbaric.

After watching the video of the peace loving Iraqis sawing the head off of the American civilian, I could not care less about what happened to those Iraqi prisoners.

If what our soldiers did was "barbaric," then the Iraqis qualify as inhuman.
