LACI PETERSON CASE
Bay search suspended
Searchers in the Laci Peterson case returned to the San Francisco Bay on Monday morning, but the boats were pulled off the water by early afternoon because of high winds and choppy water. "It was pretty touchy out there," said Detective Doug Ridenour, spokesman for the Modesto Police Department. Investigators have been searching the area near Brooks Island since last week, but windy weather has hampered efforts since Thursday. Laci Peterson was reported missing Dec. 24. Her husband, Scott Peterson, said he was fishing off Brooks Island that day. Scott Peterson is not a suspect, nor has he been cleared in the case, which police are now classifying as a homicide investigation.
an opinion piece:
Left heavy-hearted
It was with heartfelt grief I read that the police now believe Laci Peterson is deceased. A life filled with promise gone from the earth.
Her family's sorrow must know no bounds. It is my hope they find peace in knowing that if their child has passed from this life, she will be safe in the arms of the Lord forever.
Law enforcement officials have shown great compassion for Peterson and her family. My family will pray the perpetrator of this evil will be caught and justice will be served.
This case has touched the lives of many across the nation, and our thoughts and prayers will be with Laci's family until this is resolved.

A body was found Thursday inside a burning car in an orchard near Parlier, but sheriff's officials said they could not determine the cause of death.
The victim apparently drove into the orchard about 3:30 p.m. from an area near South Avenue and continued north along an asphalt and dirt road.
It will be up to Fresno County coroner's investigators to determine whether the death was suicide, homicide or an auto accident.
The call came in as a vehicle fire in an orchard. But after Fresno County firefighters extinguished the blaze about 4 p.m., they found the victim dead in the driver's side of the vehicle.
The car, believed to be a late-1980s Ford Taurus, was found 50 to 60 feet west of the dirt and asphalt road, among rows of trimmed fruit trees between Zediker and Riverbend roads.

Anyone else notice that they seem to want to search the bay RIGHT BEFORE a spell of bad weather? Just an observation.
Look, she is worm food and NO, hubby had nothing to do with it!!
Classical case of LEO Tunnel Vision!
Now, it is Iraq around the clock!!
He as in She!
And, yesss 2 years in 9 months...The Coolege Effect in action!!
And, LEO's HAVE tunnel vision...just ask the Ghost of Ricci, the guy they put in PRISON for the SMART thing, all the while the BRIDE by CAPTURE is parading with her new 'husband' right in the same neighborhood as the 'parents'!
G-D, you can't even write FICTION like this!!!
ROTFLMAO!!!
And in Humans, too!
Recent studies indicate that when a man takes a second wife, his total sexual output more than doubles over time.
Obviously, if one has a large number of wives, the benefit to each goes down, but at least up to two, the benefit to each wife is increased.
BTW, I am NOT endorsing Polygamy OR Marriage by Capture...It is just that here in the West, with whole towns filled with both Polygamists AND Brides by Capture, it would be madness not to recognize that reality.
Trust me, places like Colorado City are thriving, and the LEOs will do NOTHING to shut them down!!
It seems that here, there is a 'live and let live' attitude.
The authorities seem to get their dander up only when the Polygamists go public with their situation.
