The Irish are heavily darkhaired as you describe. My sister takes after our Mom, who was Irish, and she has black hair. I physically take after the German side of the family, ie red hair and fair skin. Go figure. ;-)

I agree...I think that was the Celtic influence....I remember some of the novels I read as a child such as Wuthering Heights....there was alway reference to the dark hair and piercing eyes....
