Happy St. Pat's Day to all. My grandmother was a "black Irish".....thick black hair and eyebrows, brilliant blue eyes and milky white skin. Now how the heck did that happen in the land of blondes and redheads? LOL. Her husband, Granddad, was Scots-Irish, Angus Bernard were his given names, and when he had hair, it was orange!

The Irish are heavily darkhaired as you describe. My sister takes after our Mom, who was Irish, and she has black hair. I physically take after the German side of the family, ie red hair and fair skin. Go figure. ;-)

Good to see you checking in today, WaterDragon. We do sort of tend to think of the Irish as redheaded and fair-skinned, don't we!
