John has A Long Mustache
MB26

Posted on 03/16/2003 6:12:32 PM PST by MindBender26

War is very close. Time to consider one other factor not usually discussed.

Saddam is not stupid. He may have some tricks up his sleeve for here in the U.S. He certainly has had time to prepare. If you were him, wouldn't you strike back in some unconventional way.?

Stop and think for a moment. If war comes HERE, what can each of us do to help? May sound simplistic, but may become a reality. Be prepared for Civil and Self Defense. Stock up on water and non-perishable foods and items needed for family defense now.

We will win, but might take some time. The the Sheeple will certainly not be ready. Comm, including internet may be down. If necessary, organize the locals and keep them calm.

We can not predict everything, but we can prepare to be prepared. Be well my friends.

Was the code words used by the BBC to alert the Freedom Fighters in Occupied France that the Normandy invasion was to start within a few hours.

We should take REASONABLE precautions here. I doubt emergency rations will be necessary but one never knows. I have emergency power to operate my MARS (Military Amateur Radio Station) equipment and extra food water should I need it. I am also prepared to defend my home and family should that become necessary but I doubt it will. I will serve my country wherever I can.

The bullets come out faster if they're powder-driven.

We have a little neighboorhood collective. One is a Doc, most are RVN vets. That was we can take turns on watch, etc.

I have no idea why the title was chosen, but a quick search turned up a few interesting hits.

According to http://www.angelfire.com/ca6/uselessfacts/history/005.html "John has a long mustache" was the coded-signal used by the French Resistance in WWII to mobilize their forces once the Allies had landed on the Normandy beaches.

Or from some movies:
http://www.moviequotes.com/archive/bynumber/4118.html (Red Dawn quote)
and
http://www.quotegeek.com/Movies/Longest_Day/ or a sound clip http://www.geocities.com/gaeliclad/MilitaryWavs.html (good one of President Reagan when the site loads, then search for mustache)

"The chair's against the wall, the chair's against the wall. John has a long mustache, John has a long mustache"
