Yes, I understand. It was a "moment" thing, I guess. What people were signing were messages of support, love and encouragement to President Bush.
A blank piece of paper would have been far more appropriate.

I understand the "emotion" of it, and like I said I'm sure the "intentions" were good. But the President can't even accept it signed like that. It is considered "defacing".
God Bless all of you for your support of this administration and the troops.
Also, perhaps you could take it to an American Legion and explain what happened. How you didn't realize this would be defacing and ask them if they could destroy it.
