Yeah....I think it's gonna be an even longer and more fervent prayer in church this morning.
Having been to the Azores myself, it makes me very nervous to have these three gathered in that place. I trust that security measures were well thought out in advance.

I lived in the Azores back in 1971-72. My Dad was Air Force and was stationed there at Lajes Field. Since President Bush is going there, I am certain good security precautions have been taken.
This 'Summit' is war planning being done.

I have only visited, as a result of living in Europe for many years - landing right there on that field. Lovely place, but it sure seemed 'lax' in the 60's. Probably just the overall feel one gets on an island(s)!

That should be THREE allies. Portugal is a separate country, and seems to be quite anxious to be recognized.

I agree 100% with THAT !
I lived in the Azores back in 1971-72. My Dad was Air Force and was stationed there at Lajes Field. The Portuguese were VERY FRIENDLY to Americans back then. I was impressed with that then, and SOooo glad to see that they VERY apparently still are. The U.S. would be very happy and very willing to help such a good ally and friend should they need it !!
