This incident was reported here (and in Europe, as far as I can tell) as more "evidence" that Rumsfeld is a "dangerously loose cannon" etc. etc. etc.

Well, gol-ly, the media did not have the full facts. Rumsfeld's comment about Britain perhaps not being fully militarily engaged in the war was based on a multi-hour conversation with Britain's defence minister, Buff-hoon.

The media went riding off on its "Rumsfeld is a buffoon" horse even as it failed to see that the true problem was all the buff-Hoon patties strewing its path.
