I have called him and given him a name to be had in remembrance before me, even the name Immanuel David Isaiah, which name being interpreted means: God with us -- Beloved of God -- The Lord is salvation -- signifying the deliverence (sic) that shall come to my people by my mighty hand in these last days...."

Walter Martin is a horrible reasource.

The man makes no secret of his having an axe to grind and his scholarship is horrid.

There's a good deal of legitimate work by accredited scholars out there regarding comparative religions. I should hope you wouldn't settle for polemics by hostile witnesses.

Walter Martin is a horrible reasource.

Is he horrible because the sources he documents are not credible or because YOU have a huge bias against the man?

Have you read KOTC and noticed that he documents all his information?

Nope, not Brigham.

You can find their history here: www.lds.org

THE DOCTRINE AND COVENANTS

SECTION 132

Revelation given through Joseph Smith the Prophet, at Nauvoo, Illinois, recorded July 12, 1843, relating to the new and everlasting covenant, including the eternity of the marriage covenant, as also plurality of wives. HC 5: 501--507. Although the revelation was recorded in 1843, it is evident from the historical records that the doctrines and principles involved in this revelation had been known by the Prophet since 1831.
