Awesome post, you hit the nail on the head. Americans are realizing that they unfortunately are going to have to play hardball too if they want to preserved their country.
Personally, I don't enjoy having to write emails and call and take up part of my day doing that, but like you said, it's a war and I will do my part to combat the Dixie Chick types and the American types who are complacent enough to let it all unfold because they don't want their personal listening habits inconvenienced.

You have to see the freeloader they married.

In an interview the other night, the thin blonde mentioned that she and latest hubby married in Vegas, and he didn't have enough money for a ring until he won some cash at the blackjack table. THAT's who you wanna marry!

Thanks Glory.

If we keep our nose to it, we will win. It may take some time and be aggrivating as hell, but in the end, worth it.

I received the same email.

The folks at Lipton must've done some scrambling this morning.

Are the "Ladies" still abroad?

Wait'll they come home - I'd love to be a fly on the wall at Dixie Chick Central.

OMG! That is really bad, she must be desperate. I think that is her second marriage I'm sure she will have plenty more.

can you spell c-a-r-e-e-r o-v-e-r

I respectfully disagree, she would make the perfect pitchperson for pork -- the other white meat. Of course, that wouldn't go over too well with the Islamic market segment that she's pursuing.

From the disgusting name calling to pictures altered to show them wearing swazticas, its all truly sickening.

Not nearly as sickening as inciting a crowd, in a foreign country, trying to besmirch the POTUS.

Has anyone already bought tickets to one of their concerts, and are now regretting it? You can't take them back for a refund unless the venue cancels the concert. But if you bought the tickets with a credit card (as most people probably do), you still have an option.

If your tickets are being delivered by mail, and you have not received them yet, when you do, mark "return to Sender" on the envelope and send it back. Then notify your credit card company that you never received the tickets, and have them remove the charge from your account. The credit card company must do this! It is then up to the vendor to prove that you did receive them. Without that proof (certified delivery, return receipt etc.), the credit card company will not reinstate the charge.

If you have already received the tickets by mail, you can do the same thing as long as you didn't have to sign for the tickets. Of course, you can't use the tickets after this without getting into legal trouble. Once you verify that the charge has been reversed, burn the tickets.

If you picked them up in person and paid with a credit card, you still might be able to have the charges reversed. Credit card companies will reverse charges for services if you are not satisfied with the service. You could claim that the concert is no longer what you originally bargained for when you bought the tickets - that the product or service is now damaaged or tarnished in your eyes. Again, once you dispute the charge, the credit card company must reverse the charge and it is the responsibility of the vendor to prove that the charge is valid.

I thought of this because my fiancee just went through something like this. She is a lawyer, and she had a client that didn't like what my fiancee told her. My fiancee told her exactly what she could expect to get in court, did all of the paperwork and prepared for the court appearance. The client decided to get another lawyer, and almost a year later, disputed the credit card charge stating that she was dissatisfied with the service my fiancee provided. They took the money out of her account immediately, and she was unable to get them to reinstate the charge, even though she was able to prove that the client got in court exactly what my fiancee told her she would get, even with a new lawyer.

So spread the word, Freepers!

Looks to me like they chose their time and place well.
They don't come back here to tour until the first of May.
Hoping by then, no doubt, that the furor will have subsided.

Yes, let's charge them all with Treason, those who besmirch President Bush today and those who besmirched President Clinton while he was in office. Or, like many belive we can just change the Bill of Rights so that it would only be legal to besmirch a Democratic President.

I hope no one seriously thinks Lipton is going to pull their sponsorship of the tour. First, they probably can't without owing the DC's millions.

Those contracts usually have a preformance clause that says the contract is null and void if there is negative PR blowback on the sponsor for some stupid act or comment by the performers.

Lipton (Unilever) is a British Company, but they probably get half their sales in the US.

No, just a gentelman and a true American who is very angry and disgusted with the uncalled-for hatefullness displayed on this website today.

I wonder just how many people at that concert in the UK paid $100 bucks or whatever to hear this HS grads pronouncements on foreign affairs. Do you think like maybe --- no one?

She brought this all on herself. No one asked her opinion and a damn C&W (plus T&A) concert is not the normal venue for political discourse. This is her John Rocker moment and I hope to hell she enjoys every damn minute of it --- after the other two scratch her eyes out for screwing up their gig.

They said that they consider recordings as loss leaders in order to sell tickets to the concerts. That is where they make their money, not on CD sales.

And if the record company doesn't make any money on the CDs, how many new ones do your think they will put out so the group can have some "lost leaders" to promote their tours? Hummmmm?

It's all connected.

So much for the apology. I clicked the link to Lipton and a big fancy Dixie Chix tour promo pop-up popped up.

Don't worry, the Dixie Chicks sold out their May show in Austin in two Hours! That is 18,000 people paying $50.00 a ticket to see the Chicks play. Do the math $900,000! And that is just for one show in Austin. Most Dates of their tour have been sold out as well meaning millions upon millions for the Dixie Chicks. I doubt that "promoting their tour" is high on the Dixie Chick to do list.
