We are writing in response to your comments regarding the Dixie Chicks 'Top of the World Tour.' We certainly apologize and are grateful you have chosen to share your thoughts.

As a manufacturer we feel it is a major responsibility to provide our friends and customers with the most creative and entertaining means of sponsorship possible.

We have a long history of presenting 'tasteful' advertising, promotional and sponsorship efforts to the public. We certainly do not wish to offend anyone. In developing our promotional efforts, Unilever and its agencies may not always anticpate all possible implications of a specific campaign.

We will certainly forward all of your comments to our marketing staff.

I would like to hear the Dixie Chicks explain why they are ashamed that the president is from Texas. What is it about Texas that makes them proud to be from there? What is it about Texas history that makes them believe that the approval of Europeans matter?

Does Natalie believe that only Texans should enjoy the freedom of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness? Does she believe it is ok to intimidate your people into silence by cutting off the tongues/hands/legs/etc of those who dissent?

Indeed. Just like the form-letter mouthings of the customer service bozos at MCI - about Danny Glover. The only way to get their attention is to hit their sales. Email them a picture of Luzianne Tea, an excellent substitute for Lipton - and maybe we can even get Lucianne Goldberg to take a high-level position on a switch-to-Luzianne campaign.

Southerners drink a lot of tea - and if we all collectively move to Luzianne - we can get those smarmy and insincere corporate clowns to cut the Blixie ditzes loose.

I watched part of an interview with the Dixie Chicks a week or so ago. They said that CD sales provide very little income to them. They get an extremely small percentage of the CD price.

They said that they consider recordings as loss leaders in order to sell tickets to the concerts. That is where they make their money, not on CD sales.

I don't know if it is true, but it is what they said.

Natalie Maines does not know what just hit here. Her home town is fed up with her remarks. Many of us are sending our cds back to Sony.

The local radio stations were so against her today and said she is not welcome HOME! She should have kept her voice to singing. She is certainly, not a Texan to the majority of us.

By the way, they say she and Sheryl Crow are big buddies. So maybe they can move to Iraq and take the rest of the over paid Hollywood Elite with them.
