The Dixie Chicks can kiss my butt! Never again will I waste my valuable time and money with their crap!

I heard the name from time to time--Dixie Chicks--but I stopped having much faith in country music a while back. It seemed to be about the same time I concluded every song was about divorce that I decided Reba, Dolly, and the Judds weren't really singing America's song anymore. An Ozark Appalachian whore is just like any other whore, and these Dixie twit whores are no different either.

The Boston AM Station guys, "Blute and Ozone" have a "Nix the Chicks" campaign started. Send them your Chicks CDs and they will break them in half and send them to the recording company.

I guess I was ahead of the curve because I've been boycotting their music all along. But seriously, I guess they were trying to suck up to the liberal English crowd and maybe figured the remark would never get back to the USA. Or, maybe they just don't care, maybe they figure they can "crossover" to pop and don't need country music fans anymore. But that crossing over rarely works and I think they sound too country and are too recognized as country to crossover. This will probably damage their careers for a little while anyway, although if their fan base is mostly female it may actually help them among the ladies, since women as a group are fairly liberal. But I do think that it was very stupid for a country music group to bash Bush since country music fans are pretty conservative as a rule. I hope they fade into nothingness and become an example of what liberal hate and anti-Americanism can lead to. But the liberals and Democrats started this crap about basically persecuting people for exercising their right to free speech, scrutinizing every little thing they say, and now they can reap what they sowed, with the likes of Jim Moran, the Dixie Chicks and the Hollywood lefty crowd.

Michael Savage let them have it also as did all talk radio. I think they've topped the list of anti-Americans speaking from their bully pulpits. Out of curiosity I bought one of their CD's last month, I am so sorry I did, but it will be the last! I am using it for skeet along with the other trash I aim at. What a totally stupid woman! I think we’ve seen the last of these not so talented women.

Natalie Maines made a comment about Angry American when it first came out. I believe she said that she hated it and it was "inappropriate" (maybe) for him to make the song.

There's a really great thread here on an interview that Toby Kieth did. I'm glad it was a feud with him, 'cause he certainly popped her upside the head with his comments.

I'm pretty sure it was the lead singer- the fat one- that said there was "no room in country music for that." I belive "that" was the angry tone of the song- or the warcry aspect of it.

I dont think there is any room in country music for her peacenik liberal garbage- or her fat a*s.

>>I have ever heard was the one done by the Morman Tabernacle Choir <<

I am not a big winter sports fan and pretty much missed that whole olympics. Just the idea of a choir doing the anthem sounds great though- too bad I didnt catch it.

It took me a while to find it but this is the live thread here on FR of the opening ceremonies from about post 200 on (mine was post 231) the anthem is discussed. Getting a video of it would be worthwhile. http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/624520/posts?q=1&&page=201

Isn't she married to a Hollywood actor?

Yes. "Adrian Pasdar," most famous for transsexual roles. Here he is (left):

DIXIE CHICKS MUSIC PULLED FROM THE AIR SHARE YOUR THOUGHTS!!
KUPL (portland, or)

Program Director Cary Rolfe has issued the following statement regarding the Dixie Chicks on 98-7 KUPL..."many of you have called and emailed your opinions regarding the recent statement made by Natalie Maines of the Dixie Chicks. While KUPL hopes for a peaceful resolution to the Iraq conflict, we do support our President and military personnel, therefore we will no longer play Dixie Chicks music until the situation is resolved to our satisfaction." Natalie Maines of the Dixie Chicks has issued this statement " As a concerned American citizen, I apologize to President Bush because my remark was disrespectful. I feel that whoever holds that office should be treated with the utmost respect. We are currently in Europe and witnessing a huge anti-American sentiment as result of the perceived rush to war. While war may remain a viable option, as a mother, I just want to see every possible alternative exhausted before children and American soldiers' lives are lost. I love my country. I am a proud American." KUPL welcomes your opinion on the request lines at (503) 733-5000 or (800) 533-K-U-P-L. Send us an email at kuplwebmaster@kupl.com. KUPL values your input!

One of the former band members, Laura, won the Texas lottery, and is living the good life. She's probably laughing at the way the karma is coming around.

Well you'll be happy to know that the Dixie Chicks are expected to recieve a less then happy homecoming in N.C. next week. I was 1 of hundreds that apparently sent e-mail to the local country radio station (yes, I listen...) expressing frustration with the D.C. After considering what to do, they (KYGO-Denver) decided to pull their music, 'for a time', to send the message and be responsive to their listeners. I think its great. The D-Js were talking about it this AM and admitted that the vast majority of the e-mail suggested pulling their music. Free speech? You bet. But it MUST be accompanied with the responsibility for what you say! Even if you are a Dixie Chick.
