Beastie Boys Post Anti-War Song

The Beastie Boys have posted an anti-war song titled In A World Gone Mad," via their official website.

The new track, the band's first in more than four years, speaks out against what Beastie Boy Adam Horovitz claims is an unjust war with Iraq.

"This song is not an anti-American of pro-Saddam Hussein statement. This is a statement against an unjustified war," Horovitz said.

Member Adam Yauch added: "We felt it was important to comment on where the U.S. appears to be heading now. A war in Iraq will not resolve our problems. It can only result in the deaths of many innocent civilians and U.S. troops. If we are truly striving for safety, we need to build friendships, not try to bully the rest of the world."

Mike D also said: "Being together, writing and recording, we felt it would be irresponsible not to address what's going on in the world while the events are still current. It didn't make sense to us to wait until the entire record was finished to release this song."

The band are currently in the studio working on their long-awaited follow-up to 1998's "Hello Nasty."

The beastie who?

;)

Now that they're just about middle aged, playing with rogaine and growing pot bellies, they want to spark a comeback, LOL.

It won't work.

Maybe Bush and rumsfield should start a band amd do crappy rap songs.

John McCain sang Streisand songs on SNL a few months ago.

Ah, so the Beastie Boys, not happy with their anonymity, decided to jump on the Hollyweird bandwagon, hoping to get someone's attention. Poor guys. They will soon fade back into obscurity.

BEASTIE BOYS FIGHT FOR HUMAN RIGHTS

In the continuing controversy surrounding the benefit concert for Mumia Abu Jamal, the former radio reporter who is currently on death row convicted of the murder of a police officer, Beastie Boy Adam Yauch has posted an open letter concerning the issue on the band’s official website. In it he speaks out against the death penalty , quoting Gandhi, ‘an eye for an eye just makes the whole world blind’.

The case of Abu Jamal has been heavily taken up by activists around the world and claims for his innocence have been encouraged by his own writings published from prison, Live From Death Row. Abu Jamal has consistently protested his innocence since first being arrested, claiming that his involvement in political activism motivated the official injustice.

East Rutherford, NJ brought together Rage Against the Machine, and Bad Religion, in support of The Beastie Boys. The event was condemned by the Fraternal Order of Police, New Jersey governor Christie Todd Whitman and radio presenter Howard Stern who has repeatedly gone out of his way to discourage attendance. However, though many tickets were initially returned for refund they have soon sold out. Adam Yauch’s letter states: ‘One of the principles that this country is based on is that everyone is entitled to a fair trial by a jury of their peers. Without that we would be living in a police state.’ {dotmusic.com Fri 29 Jan 1999}

HAs anyone figured out that 98% of the Music Biz is in this corner? And this will continue until millions of Iraq citizens are lining the streets with American Flages as our Troops drive by. Good for these guys and their opinion. I could care less.

Any song these morons 'sing' is unbelievably bad. I hate these guys. Seems that have even less intelligence than talent. Didn't think that was possible.

Just like the rest of the Hollywood trash, they should sit down and shut up. Better yet, let's send them to live under their beloved Saddam's rule. Man I'd love that!

Some of their previous pacifist writings.

My name's Mike D. and I'm about to get money."

Pulled out the jammy - aimed it at the sky

He yelled, "Stick 'em up!" - and let two fly

Hands went up and people hit the floor

He wasted two kids that ran for the door

"I'm Mike D. and I get respect

Your cash and your jewelry is what I expect"

M.C.A. was with it and he's my ace

So I grabbed the piano player and I punched him in the face

The piano player's out - the music stopped

His boy had beef - and he got dropped

Mike D. grabbed the money - M.C.A. snatched the gold

I grabbed two girlies and a beer that's cold.

True, but is it as bad as the latest tripe from John Couger Mellenhead?

Well, this is pretty bad news for those who are in favor of toppling Saddam.

The final blow to the cause will come next week when the leader of A Flock Of Seagulls is expected to release a statement condemning Bush.

The Beastie Boys have posted an anti-war song

Oh, in that case, let me change my opinion. I was really just waiting for them to weigh in on the matter, anyway

Beatie Boys New Song (FREEPED VERSION)

In a (music) world gone mad it’s hard to think right
So much violence hate and spite
Murder going on by Saddam all day and night
Due time we fight the non-violentliberating fight

Mirrors, smokescreens and lies
It’s not the politicians rappers but their actions lyrics I despise
You Protesters and Saddam should kick it like back in the day
With the cocaine and Courvoisier
But you build more bombs trade your country as you get more bold
As your mid-life carrer crisis war protest unfolds
All you want to do is take control
Now put that axis of evil unjust war bullshit crap on hold

Citizen rule number 2080
(sorry, I had to break in here. When I got to this part I started ROTFLMAO)
Politicians Entertainers are shady
So people watch your back 'cause I think they smoke crack
I don’t doubt it look at how they act

In a world gone mad it’s hard to think right
So much violence hate and spite
Murder going on all day and night
Due time we fight the non-violent liberating fight

First the ‘War On Terror’ now war on Iraq
We’re reaching a point where we can’t turn back
Let’s lose load the guns and let’s lose load the bombs
And stop the corporate contributions that their terror Saddams rule is built upon
Well I’ll be sleeping on your speeches rappin ‘til I start to snore
‘Cause I won’t carry guns for an oil listen to your crap about an "unjust" war
As-Salamu alaikum, wa alaikum assalam
So go send your CD's to your mom
Cause you'll be far away when we drop the bombs
Now don’t get us wrong ‘cause we love
You know those protesters, they just hate America
But that’s no reason to get hysterica (ROTLMAO again!)
They’re layin’ on the syrup thick (Laughing too hard to edit these two lines!!)
We ain’t waffles we ain’t havin’ it

In a world gone mad it’s hard to think right
So much violence hate and spite
Murder by Saddam going on all day and night
Due time we fight the non-violent liberating fight

Now how many people must get killed?
Because your protest fix could not get filled?
How many oil rap families get killed?
Not a damn one so what’s the deal?
It’s time to lead the way and de- to escalate
Lose Destroy the Saddams weapons of mass destruction and the his hate
Say ooh ah what’s the White House Hollywood doin’?
Oh no! Say, what in tarnation have they got brewing??!!!!???!!
Well I’m not pro Bush pro America and I’m not pro Saddam
We need these (rappin) fools to remain calm
George Bush you’re looking like Zoolander
Trying to play tough for the camera

What am I on crazy pills? We’ve got to stop drop it (MOAB)
Get your (greedy) hand out my grandma’s our teenagers pockets
We need health care Iraqs people need us more than going to protesting war
You think know it’s democracy they’re fighting for

In a world gone mad it’s hard to think right
So much violence hate and spite
Murder by Saddam going on all day and night
Due time we fight the non-violent liberating fight
