Remember the conventional wisdom regarding the timing of the Afganistan assault? The US cannot fight in winter. It's absurd! The frigid mountains and snow, cold will make an assault impossible, the equipment inoperative. Our people cannot fight in the brutal Afghan winters that stop even the most stoic.

When did we fight? Winter. We launched an assault in Winter.

If there is one thing I have noticed about President Bush, it is his ability to think completely outside the box. That ability is a rare gift. He has it and demands it of his administration. I think if Saddam is betting that the desert heat will make an assault impossible, he doesn't understand the absolute power behind this military, nor does he know exactly what we can do.

Besides, this UN business is so much smoke and mirrors the idiots stonewalling have fallen prey to the distraction. The game is what is really the true alignment of the world and who are the players? Just goes to show what a true poker game is.

I've been there in April and May. I cannot imagine how bad it would be in June, July, or August. It's not just a matter of troops getting a little sweaty and uncomfortable. You're talking about troops wearing heavy chemical weapons suits in addition to normal equipment, and being unable to function for any period of time. I don't care whether you're inside or outside the box. It is not practical.
